KOOL continues to be one of the most well-programmed commercial stations in town, which makes me a little confused as to the purpose of the "baby boomer" puff piece about the station in the newspaper. Wasn't the whole point of KOOL re-branding a few years away to get AWAY from that demo and play more 70's/80's? Baby boomers, like every demo, eventually get older, and when they get older, KOOL will need to re-brand again to avoid facing the same fate as KOY. Yes, "baby boomers" have money and get good books, but so do Generation X'ers and Millennials (or so it seems) which would explain how KTAR turned into "Real Housewives/Soccer Mom Radio" seemingly overnight at the expense of those exact same baby boomers.
