Mississippi EAS Test

Surprised that there are no comments about the test. It appears that from my limited input it ran rather successfully in Mississippi. If this is true, Randy Bell and Jackie Lett need recognition for starting an early program of monthly testing and reporting for stations to resolve problems...I know it was especially true to me and my fellow broadcasters in N. Mississippi. Most state boards are ranting about the failures. I am sure we had some...but the silence amazes me. Tnx JBI

Other than the garbled audio (which appears to have been a problem with FEMA), our 6 station group relayed the test successfully in central MS.

I would also like to give credit to Jason Black (the C.E. at WMSI) for the extra time and effort he spent in making sure everything that could be checked was checked.

I know WEVL in Memphis received and rebroadcast the test successfully. We did get some extra header tones but the audio was understandable. We also got EOM as the station did the full test and return to programming without human intervention.

That's Great ! WEVL Has Been A Very Impressive Station For Years To Me. They've Moved A Long Way In Short Time.

They work really hard there to stay alive. Great group of people too. I love volunteering for them even though I've rebuilt the place and they don't call me very often because nothing ever breaks. Seems like I do maybe two or three things a year for them now and it's mostly changing out CD players when needed.
