Mississippi Gulf Coast needs another Top 40 station

The Gulf Coast needs ethier a bigger signal or new stronger signal station that plays Top 40 hits so can reach out rural areas like Saucier, Kiln, Wiggins, and many more!

but SL 100 signal is still weak in wiggins it comes and goes. i dont what cause of it. I'll get b97, wabd, and the monkey better than i do with SL 100 in wiggins

Unless Triad makes a deal of a lifetime or somebody makes a surprise move, there's not a lot of options for a more powerful CHR on the coast except switching 105.9 back to the format (don't know why it ever happened in the first place) and swapping it with Bob.

Fellas, just leave it to the stations in the area...they will or won't based on their analysis...and I seriously doubt they even monitor this board...that is NOT to say they should not! Tnx JBI

I dunno, if you're getting B97, WABD, Monkey and a little bit of SL 100 you're getting more contemporary music than most markets. Here in the Mobile area we have WABD and 107.3 Hit Music Now, which is a carbon copy, right down to the same songs at the same time, of SL 100. So we only get two choices even when SL 100 is blowing in.

All of those areas should be covered by signals from other markets. Besides, pretty much all CHRs are carbon copies of each other anyway so why would you want more than a couple anyway?

Bob can never flip!! Best station to hit the air since WCKW !! :) ;D Commercial free Mondays and a playlist as large as my house!! \m/

Your right at BOB 105.9 they don't need to flip it. I got BOB on my preset button on car radio.
They need to drop country on 107.9 and put either dance, top 40, hip pop, or something else than this old boring format and
give the Gulf Coast more variety to listen to.

The coast doesn't already have a hip hop station? And dance? Never going to happen and shouldn't. It's the biggest flop format anyone ever dreamed up.

i guess thats why they invented the satellite radio, internet radio, and smartphones, because people do not want to listen to small market FM stations anymore!!!!!

I hated it when Power 108 changed to the current Kicker 108. However, they've been going on strong for 18 years now and I see no reason why they would change.

As far as a hip-hop station on the coast, WJZD isn't entirely hip-hop. 104.9 was urban until being changed to news-talk not too long after Katrina struck. The only radio source for hip-hip on the coast is Q93 from New Orleans or WBLX Mobile.

In all honesty, can you blame them?

But even the small market stations have zero flavor for the most part. They all spout off the same stories that they stole from (er, I mean prepped and found on) TMZ, they all run Seacrest, they all run syndicated morning shows, they all play the same playlists. Why bother?

That's partly why I mainly stick to K-Love and Air1.
