Mistake found in the Bay Area Radio Museum

You're correct, Recto, only it's "Emmis," not Ennis. Emmis bought the frequency--99.7--from NBC in 1988. In turn, Bedford bought 99.7 after Emmis threw in the towel.

Prior the Bill Stairs Programmed KXXX ("We're like the Hershey bar with almonds; we have nuts"), the calls were KYUU. That line up, headed up by Ric Lippincott, included Don Bleu, Rick Shaw, Jackie Scarr, Jeff McNeil, Stephen Beam and more - all very talented pros.
