It was exactly 10 years ago on this day that children's TV icon Fred Rogers passed away. Almost everyone of my generation grew up watching him, and calling him their "neighbor." He was a one-of-a-kind, and nobody can replace him. This was before we had all these senseless kids shows on Disney and Nick Jr. Do you realize that almost no kids shows of this day have a real live person? Mr. Rogers always talked up to kids, and not down to kids. He reminded us that it's okay to be different, and to be happy with yourself as you are. It's good to see that they created Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. I've only seen one episode, and it actually did seem a lot like the original Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, but of course it won't be the same without the man himself. I also noticed that fewer and fewer PBS stations are airing Mister Rogers now. Here in Boston, it airs on the obscure PBS station WGBX/44 (sister station of WGBH) on Saturday morning at 6 am.
