Mistress Carrie gets an award

WAAF/Boston MD and afternoon drive personality Mistress Carrie has been honored by the U.S. Army with the Commander’s Award for Public Service for her live broadcasts from Baghdad and Kuwait in September 2006. During Carrie's trip, dubbed Boston To Baghdad, she became an embedded reporter with the Massachusetts Army National Guard and supplied daily news updates to WAAF, as well as enhanced public understanding of the National Guard’s mission and reunited Massachusetts soldiers with family members live on the air. General Oliver Mason, Major Winfield Danielson and Sergeant Jamie Gaiten all stopped by the WAAF studios on April 5 to present Carrie with the award.

“Mistress Carrie’s efforts are in keeping with the best traditions of public service,” said General Mason. “She is a credit to WAAF and the commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

The Commander's Award for Public Service is the fourth highest public service honorary award that may be granted to a private citizen. The award is given to recognize service or achievements that contribute significantly to the accomplishment of the mission of an Army activity, command or staff agency.

Good job dude, way to go buddy. Congrats ya purple haired freak.

Congratulations, it may have been a self serving publicity stunt but it touched the audience and that is what counts most.

The policy of "embedded reporters" to help bolster propaganda for the Cheney/Bush regime has already been exposed and it can take a heavy toll when these "reporters" have to be protected when our wonderful Troops have work to do.

We are talking about an Army that has used the death of Pat Tillman to try to foster recruitment.
I am especially saddened for minority men who are taken advantage of and sign up without realizing there are double standards in recruitment.

"embedded reporter" is a euphemism for Fox News-style propaganda that Entercom, disappointingly, spreads to help further this insane "war" (think Howie Carr encouraging Bush long after we have exposed the lies of WMD, Connection between Saddam Hussein / Osama Bin Laden etc. etc.)

I am all for reporters and entertainers with serious concern for our troops. The entire "embedded reporter" thing is as much a publicity stunt as putting John McCain in Baghdad at the expense of our troops.
These are not objective reporters who tell it like it is, these are reporters mouthing the Bush mantra to the detriment of our troops. I will not speak for Carrie's motives, however, getting into bed with the Bush Administration is hardly supporting our troops. Carrie should demand EVERY DAY the closing down of this misguided war. If she doesn't she is just playing the Corporate game at the expense of our troops.

THE DEATH OF PAT TILLMAN

In Light of all the lies associated with this war, Carrie should give yet another questionable "award" back.

Army: Friendly fire may have caused 2 more deaths

By LOLITA C. BALDOR
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - A week after acknowledging a host of errors in the friendly fire death of former NFL star Pat Tillman, the Army said Wednesday that two soldiers who died in Iraq in February also might have been killed by their own comrades.

The Army said it was investigating the deaths of Pvt. Matthew Zeimer, 18, of Glendive, Mont., and Spc. Alan McPeek, 20, of Tucson, Ariz., who were killed in Ramadi, in western Iraq, on Feb. 2. The families of the two soldiers were initially told that they were killed by enemy fire.

Embedded Reporters are the brainchild of Karl Rove. Giving them an "award" for spewing propaganda is hardly courageous. Carrie - demand the Bush Administration bring the boys and girls home NOW

Well Joe on the bright side at least she didnt give away their position complete with latitude and longitude like that genius GERALDO did!.

:D

I agree with you there, TowerBuzz, and have no problem with Mistress Carrie per se. I have a problem with this "embedded" thing, more so with John McCain than mistress Carrie.

Good for her!

She's still filthy filthy girl. And wouldn't have it any other way.

Nice job Carrie!
