Mitch Evans out as sport director Dave FM

Mitch Evans said he was let go Monday, told by Rick Caffey that they no longer needed a sports director. He naturally wasn't very happy and felt Dave hasn't given the Falcons as much support as he had expected. And no love lost between Mitch and Barnes.

Then I think its safe to assume that Mitch...

is not one of Atlanta's top 5 radio power brokers?

Maybe not...But definitely in the top 5 for good guys in the market. Infinity still isn't sure what to do with the Falcons on air, but now that they have Dave on track, I'm sure they didn't feel like paying for sportscasts that Barnes doesn't want.

Too bad for Mitchy. He is a good guy. I hope he lands on his feet.

Mayhem was talking just yesterday about poor Mitch and how he had to work with that jerk Barnes as Steak put it. I am sure he will somehow end up back on when the opportunity presents itself.

Rodney, does a morning jock at the #15 station have that much say over personnel?

Re: Then I think its safe to assume that Mitch...

Too bad. I liked Mitch. I too hope he lands on his feet.

Does anyone get along with Barnes?? I've heard "LiL Jimmy" Baron's horror stories before, and a few others. Plus, what's the allure of Barnes?? All he seems to do now days is drool over Ferfer. I wish he'd shag her, and get it over with.
