Mitch Evans out as sports director at WGST

I would never have known this since the 640 preset went away after the Braves season concluded. If Clear Channel cares nothing about local content, I care nothing about Clear Channel.
 
Not one single local show during the day, when their signal is basically accessible by the average person who lives outside the perimeter? This from a station that used to have, in the late 80's/early 90's local mornings, local middays, local afternoons? And great content, too: Tom Hughes, Tom Houck and Dick Williams, Neal Boortz, Sean Hannity (all local), etc? My God, what have we come to? The only local person on the station is Art Mehring and the news staff of what...2 or 3? What do you need a Program Director for?
 
Could he be headed back to the Zone? Since Caycee Johnson left it has just been fill-ins. It was obvious Mitch would be let go once the braves were gone so maybe they were waiting for him although I am not sure they could afford another employee. Perhaps morning updates and replace Woolvy 11 -1.
 
It's a wonder that WGST doesn't just go dark for good-at least if it did, that would free up 640
so you could listen to KFI late nights again.
 
Just wrong in so many ways...where does one start? Keeping it simple, a talented media man simply cut aside for mere savings. Could have been used to create more elements there, but now looking for work. Best of luck to you, Mitch. Shouldn't be long before he gets a call or two...

For the record Rodney I think the hat looks great. I say that because I know who got it for him and I always want to stay on that person's good side. If that person needs Tibbsie's address I do have it. In addition I am driving up there on Friday if you need a lift.
 
I don't listen to WGST anymore. Is there anything still live? A local news update? I assume they have to have somebody still reading news to feed the Georgia Network stations. Who is doing GN Sports?
 
yes i know for a fact that there is a live news team during the day up till 7 - including doug nodine and jennifer perry and few others. they also have some live weekend news updates. off-peak hours run automatically and i haven't heard a GNN feed since my days at the old lake 102.3 when we used to play the news and pete davis sports from the network, so about what goes on on GNN, i know not.
