Dennis Mitchell and Michelle Cruz did a nice job today - their first morning on WROZ 101.3fm.

They encouraged listeners to call in and introduce themselves and consistently referred to themselves as the "new kids on the block".

Good job you two!


On a separate subject, it's nice to know that Mix 106.7fm hasn't jumped on the Christmas music bandwagon. Stick to your guns with the light music and play a holiday favorite twice an hour tops. Follow this and you will do well with the softies!

correct on both accounts. my wife really liked these two newbies on the rose. did a nice job. nice chemistry. they sounded a little awkward at times but hey, it's day one.

and mix i think will do exactly what you said. i heard them say last week something to the effect of 'just the right amount of christmas tunes.' sounds like no all christmas for them which makes perfect sense. they should be picking up a bunch of people mad at the rose and warm for doing all christmas.

what's WQIC doing this year? i haven't checked in with them in awhile.

I dont think really anyone checks with WQIC at all to see what they are doing. I completly forget the exsist. Anyone else believe they should change formats to something else that might get them some attenion or stand out from the rest of the stations in the area? Or is
it me?

I agree the Rose sounded great today, the only thing I didnt like from the new morning show is that they didnt call my name for the $300.00 give away!!!!

I think WLBR- WQIC still sign off overnight! Cheap? or do the Lebanon police mandate they leave the air and mandate nobody walks the streets of Bologna City from 1 to 5 am ?

Most certainly do think that this is enough time to form an opinion about their morning show.

I think they are funny and have a good chemistry. No one was tripping over another. And 30 minutes to form an opinion is enough time for me.

After all, we form opinions of each other within minutes of meeting each other.

Exciting and enthusiastic...I'm listening again for the 2nd day and posting another opinion at 6:40 a.m.

Fortunately enough, it doesn't take me 4 hours to form an opinion.
 
The Rose is played in my fiance's office. Her office gave them high marks for their first show. It really doesn't matter what dorks like us say.. If offices full of 9 - 5'ers like what they are hearing, that's what matters.

I'm sure Dennis and Michelle are going to do just fine.
 
Looks like the Radio-Info clock at the top of the page is an hour behind...

So you might want to add an hour from the time something "posted" to get the right posting time.

In all fairness to Sonny, he had enough time to form a positive opinion before he posted.

Many on this board only need one break to totally trash someone.
 
Dennis is a first class guy. I can't say the same for Michelle. No, that doesn't mean she's a bad person. I have never met her! :)

Everybody I have ever talked to who has know her has said she's a great person. I'll take their word for it!

He never put his signature on his contract and nobody ever caught it. That made it a non-binding agreement...
 
Doesn't anyone get sick of the same old stuff in the morning? The "radio guy" male, the "sidekick" female, canned humor, stupid trivia, boring conversations about crap from the show prep services, etc. Basically, it's an hour filled with everything but the one thing I tune in for......MUSIC! I can't be the only one sick of this never-ending constantly recycled morning show template. Then again, maybe you radio folk love it, I don't know.
 
How does that template compare to the really successful morning shows?
What if the "Air Personalities" threw in some breaking news briefs, took calls on current, local hot topics,
tried to keep up with traffic delays (maybe w/ listener calls) water main breaks, etc., and still played some music? Personally, I never minded time checks and very brief temp and weather updates.
Never did understand the jihad against "time and temp" air people.
 
OK...this could probably be a thread on its own, but I'll mention it here...the thing I can't stand is when stations throw people together for a team show and its quite obvious they have no chemistry. You can't just pair people togther and say "do your thing" without some kind of knowledge beforehand that they might make a good team. Maybe you recognize that they are compatible off the air, maybe they have opposite personalites..something...but I gotta say, there are some teams on in the York/Harrisburg/Lancaster market right now that really need to go....it just sounds so contrived, so fake...they're trying hard to do something but its just not there. Its only my opinion, I could be wrong.
