Mix 100.7 changes Traffic report

Unless I misheard it today, it appears Mix 100.7 has changed their traffic sounder.

Not a fan of the new one.

The old one got your attention whereas the new one can just disappear into the background as it appears to be solely spoken. Gary then comes on to give the report with no additional sound at all.

While in recent years due to cuts in the traffic dept, the traffic reports have become shorter, when they are on they usually give some info I can use as I travel a lot.

Not sure if it's any indication of additional changes at the station.
 
I would guess it has something to do with automation as the reports are generic and can run on multiple stations. Correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I do know Gary pre-records a traffic report that the stations then play back however each radio station had it's own traffic intro.

I listened to WMTX this morning and the traffic sound is back. Not sure if the reason they weren't using it was technical or otherwise.
