Mix 100.7 question

I rarely listen to Mix 100.7, but while punching around Wednesday night I heard John Tesh. Yet the station's website still has Tesh in middays, Shriner in afternoons, and Kristy at night. Did Mix do the old lineup switcheroo again, or is someone looking for work? :-\

Tesh's show has been carried on all formats, from AC to country. Where there's a will...

Part-timer is correct; it's not about making sense it is about saving money........clear channel sucks! and they obviously don't care about the product or the listener. They put dan sileo on in two markets....that's two, too many.

the john tesh show is ridiculous

I do recall hearing the break around 10:30 or 10:40 so that would explain it! I thought Kristy was on to midnight... but then again it shows I don't listen to Mix enough to know what the lineup is!

As for Sileo, he's on in three markets which is three too many.

As I said, John Tesh would be a fairly good fit for smooth jazz or very soft AC. I think that he ruins what was left of MIX. They would be better VT'ing from other Hot AC station in their massive portfolio of creative stations. Why not just bring back Dave Mason? Tesh sounds even worse when they play modern AC. I think MIX is just a mess and why are they waiting to flip? Why not run Ryan Seacrest on both FLZ and MIX ? Makes as much sense.

My mainstream AC leans rather hot, runs Tesh in mornings, and wins W25-54 by 8 shares.

He may not be your thing, but "bad" is in the ear of the beholder, and clearly there are opinions contrary to yours.

I respectfully disagree with MsMusicRadio.....

Tesh is on everything from AC, Hot AC, Rock AC to Superhits to Country... if you listen to him, and take the "entertainment tonight and/or piano-guy musician" image out of your head, and listen as a "personality" based on the content and his on-air delivery (which is not a 'soft' delivery), it does fit with Hot AC, and the ratings in multiple mkts back that statement up...

Look at markets like Hartford, where he's on WHCN/FM, a "Rock" AC... over the last 6-7 ratings books, he's top 3 in his daypart with Persons 25-55, Women, and MEN. Also, the show was just moved to mid-days in Honolulu (KSSK), and starts monday 7-mid on (Hot AC) WMMX/FM "Mix 107.7", Dayton

Just for kicks... here's a link to KYUN/FM , a Country station that carries him in MID-DAYS... where he's #1 even with the younger demo of Persons 18-34 www.106thecanyon.com

Parttimer said:
In Pittsburgh he's on a MOYL station and tanking.

Parttimer... what demo are you looking at? WJAS/Pittsburgh's core audience is NOT 25-54 , not even a 35-64 .... its a station whose core artists are Sinatra, Dean Martin, Paul Anka, Johnny Mathis

On a station where the entire audience is over 55, the 12+ numbers pretty accurately reflect the 55+ demo (as is the case with WDUV and KDKA).

Last book JAS went 3.9- 3.4. Three years ago the station was top 5 in the market 12+. They are now #12.

The last time I listened to JAS a few weeks ago, I'd say they are really starting to sound like WDUV with 70's soft AC artists way outnumbering the old MOYL music. My big question would be how long is CC going to continue the current format on MIX? Also, how do they stack up 25=54 against Magic who runs Delilah for 10 hours a day ( thankfully it is overnight).
