Mix 101.5 dumps Delilah for John Tesh?

Looks like, for the second time in the last three years, Delilah has been bumped from the Raleigh airwaves. In 2006, her former Raleigh home, Sunny 93.9, became 93.9 Kiss FM. Nearly a year later, she pops up on Mix 101.5. Now, instead of Delilah, Mix airs the John Tesh show in that time slot. When did this happen? And will Mix still do Xmas music?

P.S. She's still on G'boro affiliate 99.5 WMAG, whose signal for the most part comes in all right here...

That was expected. Capitol Broadcasting sent a press release out several weeks ago stating that John Tesh would be their new night guy.

John Tesh also airs in Wilmington on their sister station "Sunny 104.5", which is owned by Capitol's subsidary "Sunrise Broadcasting"

How does the music work?

I've read that Tesh airs on an adult standards station in Phoenix. He's on Hot AC Star 92.1 in Myrtle Beach, which isn't quite like Delilah was so maybe that's why they dropped her.

Do all the AC stations get the same music? Does the Hot AC in Myrtle Beach get different music from the regular ACs?

Delilah is a "Soft Rock" show. Doubt you'd hear her on a Hot AC. It would be too different from their format. Will be interesting to see if WMAG in the Triad keeps Delilah. She's always done well on that station.

Clear Channel owns Premiere, which owns Delilah. Clear Channel owns the underperforming KISS in Raleigh.
It's just about Christmas music time. Hmmmmmm? History is the best teacher.

Absolutely. CC should do AC (again) on 93.9, since the format there is more similar and they could probably keep a lot of the KISS listeners, and even the airstaff. 93.9 as Sunny certainly did better than KISS.

I didn't think any format was working in this economy..Nobody's buy! BIGAPE

Like I said, they dropped her. They are still close to a soft rock sound, but just different enough that they quit using that term. Unfortunatley, someone forgot to tell them to change their billboards.

WGNI in Wilmington had her a few years ago, and they're the same way. There was no soft rock in Wilmington at the time (unless you could pick up WLTT), and they were the closest thing, but all the sources claimed they were hot AC.

Seeing the pattern CC seems to be following (at least in G'Boro), could they have forced Delilah off of 101.5 so they can, say, go all-Christmas then AC with Delilah on 93.9 (and maybe talk on 106.1)?
