Do they have plans to bring back that outdoor block pardee. It was very popular on Thurs, during the summer. It was a great promotion. I e-mailed a person in their pr dept... never heard anything?
Live@5 had a peak crowd of 1500... & a total of 2500 per nite. My friends were like most that came out... We really were not into the bands... as much we were into hanging out together, & the plentiful eyecandie
I understand the events have some similarities, but there is a reason that it is NOWAY near as popular. I used to call these 'other' local events- Poormans L@5's. & those that organized them to be held on the 'off' Thurs, when their was no L&5. Cuz they knew going head-to-head would be sucide. I only attended them cuz of the L@5 'momentum.
The merchants of MissionValleyShoopingCenter had one in the back... parking lot... near the theater. Flatterie must be the best compliment- Some women's charity, held a shorlived one@ NorthHills Mall... in the parking lot in back of where the FirstCitizensBank & PostOffice used to be. These events, along w/ the current 96.1 version... are hollow imitations. It seems like a simple formula to pull off- Band/Beer/invite the fans... But as the sports clinche goes- The great ones make it lk ez.
To use a UNC basketball analogy:
Tyler just became our all-time leading scorer
but
I don't think this is gonna make any of our fans forget #23
