Mix 102.9 becoming more "pop" friendly?

CHR has gotten very upbeat and pop-oriented in the last three years with more emphasis on strong songwriting and pop hooks. Most veteran rappers have to "go pop" now with someone like Rihanna to stay on the Top 40.

And you have a new generation of 30-somethings now listening to Adult Contemporary radio. They grew up on CHR in the 90-00's and don't want to hear a bunch of ballads. It's a combination of a new audience and very pop-rhythmic CHR hits that aren't too hard (though I think it's surprising that The Black Eyed Peas "I Got A Feeling" crossed over to AC) that's making AC stations sound a lot like CHR stations now.
