Mix 102.9 now Jack-FM

I was flipping through the dial the other day and noticed that Mix 102.9 out of Gadsden is now Jack FM. They also appeared to have boosted the signal it was coming in very clear in Shelby County during the early morning.

You were probably hearing WNPT-FM licensed to Marion (also on 102.9). They switched to "Jack FM" about a year ago.

Correct. Heard "Mix 102.9" loud and clear on the way through Gadsden earlier today.

It was definitely Jack FM. They were loud and clear in Bessemer yesterday. I was in a well built house, with (radio) line of sight to both Ishkooda and Red Mountains, and WNPT still managed to stop the scan. On my cell phone's radio. That's quite an accomplishment!

Still Mix 102.9 in Gadsden. I see they finally got someone on the night staff instead of more John Tesh.

Yeah, Tesh in the midday slot was already more than I could handle. Those long stops between every song are excruciating.
