Anybody noticed their programming? Music wise? They've been playing more of the 90's & today's music instead of the 80's. I also noticed they changed their motto from "The Best Mix Of The 80's, 90's, & Today" to "Today's Best Mix". What's going on here??

When you're being beaten by the sounds of traffic going bu ya gotta do something!

I hope they have eliminated "The New" from their slogan.

The "Totally 80's lunch" is no more now it's the "Retro-lunch" where they focus mainly on the 90's music.

Yep. This has been going on for quite a while now.
I made an observation of this in a "what do you think
of DFW radio?" thread several months ago.

They are really leaning towards the alt or "new age"
stuff...which makes me wonder if it's desperation,
or if they think through research (yes, that god awful
R word) their target audience (women) 18-34,
is making a transitional shift to more modern music.
Generally, I would think that women in that age bracket
would be more into the slower ballad stuff, but maybe
I'm completely off my rocker. I could see that crowd
digging Pink, Avril Lavigne, John Mayer, Nickelback, and
such, but not really the "harder edge" stuff. My significant
other is mid-forties, and likes some new, but the second
it starts sounding like NOISE (like much of the crap
out there) without lyrics, she's ready to turn the station.
She would NEVER be a Edge listener, BUT
she likes Mix, and always has. This different flair though,
I don't know if she'll stick with it.

Tuning in and hearing Frankie Goes To Hollywood, followed
by Hinder, or some similiar band, is rather bizarre.

Guess the ratings books will tell if the crowd follows. So far
though, things have been tanking in all formatics with the
folks at Mix. So maybe it's a last ditch effort to keep the boat
afloat, while at the same time, they're bailing water.

My wife said she has not been impressed with them for about a month now. I put my XM in her car a couple of weeks ago, but she said she quit flipping to them before that.

She is just outside the edge of the 18-34 demo.

Yeah changing the slogan...that'll get them some ratings. Haa>haaa :D

I'll have to listen more often (Sorry Lisa! I've been slacking) - I been waiting on someone to start playing more 90s stuff since...the 90s. :) Nobody else in this market plays it. I'm glad they are!
