Mix 1027 on the Rise

I believe I was a bit ahead of the curve on this one, by about a year ago, and the answer is yes; at the time, my opinions on this(Frankie Blue period) were met with hoots and howls; not hearing too much hooting lately,I must say.I said at the time(in a bit too obnoxious of a manner) that they'd get all the way up there, maybe not #1,but close enough.I still think it's going to happen, for the simple reason that they've focused on a NY area mainstay, 70s disco ,80s freestyle, etc. and NOTHING ELSE,for the purists who don't want to hear reggaeton, hip hop, r & b,etc.and they celebrate that focus(and they're taking a chunk of the CBS-FM crowd which "Jack" lost from the very first NY Post "Bloodbath" headlines; and "Jack" ain't getting em back; and as I said, the ipod generation has no use for radio, so they won't make up the difference.)

Exactly right on all points as I also stated long ago. Superserve that target demo and they will come. Jack! LOL! too funny!

Mix went up a tenth of a point, so did KTU.
Mix first has to think about beating PLJ in the ratings before it can dream of later at the most having a tie with KTU.

Just look at it from this standpoint... they hit rock bottom and there was no where for Mix to go but up... Not sure they'll go to #1 but when you finally stick with a format that has some legs (especially here in NYC) you're going to see improved numbers... I don't think they're anywhere near the big dogs of NYC radio yet though, they've got a long ways to go.
______________

Well, Infinity is sticking with the format. So, yep, it will continue to rise and possibly become very successful.
______________

I'll admit, I was one of those people taking shots at Mix, but it seems like they are working hard, trying to make it sound good, and it does. I still wish they were AC though.
______________

you were NOT the only one behind them, I was the FIRSt one behind them, in an agressive manner which made me the 'dart board' up here for a while(I DO get carried away sometimes) but welcome to the club.)

I'd like to clarify, I am not all that fond of Mix 102.7 from a listening standpoint. I like some variety to my dance or I get bored with it and flip stations. I can't do all the slower and classics all the time...

I did give Infinity some props for appearing to be sticking with a format for more than six months... and they got a slight bump out of it. I'm sure they still don't have the demo numbers Infinity would like to see on the WNEW calls.
______________
