Mix 104.1 Pet Peeve

They announce the 90's are in the mix while ripping into a mid to late 80's song. Why don't they just admit that they still play some 80's music instead? ::)

They only played three 80s songs last week. That said, that sounds really dopey. No need to cut a sweeper for those three songs, but you can't call "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" 90's. We're not idiots.

As for WROR, it must be very occasionally...only ones I see are "Hard to Handle" and "Life is a Highway." And neither of those feel out of place on that station.

along with what they are playing now, no one seems to care about (NEW) Urban AC music. I'm not saying change their format, I'm just saying, they should play some (NEW) Urban AC music to go against (HOT 96.9) who now plays (Oldschool Hip Hop)
Other than that, MIX 104.1 is alright, not bad at all

This question is probably for Karson, but when did Mix dump the majority of its 80s and 90s? Yes, I hear 90s every so often, but not as much compared to, say, 5 years ago. Also, as for the slogan, because of the minimal amount of 80s played anymore, thats probably why its not "80s, 90s, Now", but rather, "Boston's Best Variety (of the 90s, 2K and Today)."

As a sidebar, I do like the 3 90s songs at Noon. Wish it could be a full hour...What's that feature called?

But the real question is Mix being hurt by Hot 96.9? I'd say if so then not by much, just saying without seeing any ratings at all.

It's been years since we dropped the 80's so you might want to see when Joe Cortez moved his Friday night 80's show to ODS, that would be the time frame.

I don't look at ratings so I have no idea how Hot does against Mix, but I find it hard to believe that a fan of Kelly Clarkson, Fun, Pink, Imagine Dragons, Bon Jovi, Mumford & Sons, James, Phillip Phillips & The Cure is leaving us for Hot.

Thankfully, I no longer wear a PD hat and can focus on the important stuff, like why my cohorts teach my toddler to say "Make it rain." ;D

I believe they used the 98.5 ➔ 104.1 switch to update/tweak the format.

Hell, why not put Urban AC on Magic! Might fit better there...

As much as even I hate to admit it, Boston is a lame ass Pop Music/Sports Talk town in 2013. Wasn't always that way, but it is now...

One thing I hate about Mix 104.1-their "Can't Beat Kennedy" quiz broadcast during Karson and Kennedy's morning show.

Now I actually like that feature. It is one of the things that makes their morning show unique!

I actually heard U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" within the 90's intro. Someone in corporate must actually be reading this board.

If I never hear "You Give Love A Bad Name" ever again, it won't be too soon. (No offense. ;) )
