Mix 105.1 Tied At #1 With Z88.3

Mix 105.1 is not exactly a CHR station.
I hear about "Friday Night 80's" from friends.
What do you think made Mix 105.1 so well-rated this month now that they are tied with Z88.3?

Congrats to everyone at Mix 105.1 for also beating XL106.7!

HOT AC is one of the Hottest Formats going right now...I'd say Rick Stacy,CBS etc etc know how to execute this format & they do it well. What amazes me is how MIX unseated MAGIC.Is it possible we are about to see LITE AC go the way of Easy Listening??? Is lite ac too Soft??? OK Lite ac will work in a lot of older demo Florida & Arizona Markets but is the formats days in the Orlando market numbered??? One of the brilliant things about HOT AC is perhaps the kids would like a CHR but the Mother who is driving the kids to soccer practice says no let's listen to MIX...the HOT AC May have enough of the same music that the CHR has to keep the kids interested but less of the harder edge Rap/Urban that mom is happy she does not have to be subjected to it.

Good observation Just Me. I agree, this station is "safe" for the moms with kids in the car. Scooter McKenzie has been masterful in this slot from day 1. CBS continues to image and execute the format very well. I think Mix 100.7 in Tampa equally sounds good. This is a very strong format and a great fit here in O-Town.

Congrats to Mix and CBS.

I have much more respect for the Mix. They are a COMMERCIAL station and make no bones about it that somebody will make a PROFIT. Nothing wrong with profit unless you are making one while claiming to be "non profit" but certain people are making huge incomes from fund raising.

Agree with everything posted by Just Me, but have one correction.. Rick Stacy, while an excellent program director who has done an amazing job as P.D. and morning man at Sunny FM, does not program Mix 105.1. Mix 105.1 is programmed by Bobby Smith.

My Apologies...it was my understanding Rick was Ops Manager of BOTH MIX and SUNNY.I Stand Corrected if that is not the case.

Here is the thing about tampa and Orlando. The problem with 98.7 is it has a limited signal in the Tampa market. Mix has a way better signal than 98.7 in Tampa. Plus they had 100.7 doing a somewhat similar format.
