Mix 92.3 is now...

80's 90's & now---The New Mix 92.3! I'm still liking it but the Moadonna today is overkill. Even if it is her birthday. What is she like 60 or something?? ::) ;D

These corporations nowadays have NO marketing clues. They tweak their formats so they can use the term "new" continuously. In this case, they should have to drop the "new" because they were just "new" music and now they are a "Mix" of old & new !
Anyway, not enough people listened to it or will - so no real big deal.

No clue about anything is an understatement. They're losing money hands over fist. Mindset is, just throw something up and pray they get some revenue from it. Just look at Friday's close on stocks to those clueless corporations...

Great minds at work wouldn't you say? Downsizing is the future, which will probably include New Orleans properties for both. A fire sale isn't too far off.

So we've basically gone back to 92.3 The Point?

Correct. But with a smaller playlist more than likely. Every time I turn it on today its Madonna ???

92.3 has officially come full circle. I started working at 92.3 in 2002 when it was WCKW 92.3 The Point best of the 80's 90's and today. It all went down hill from there. I got to stay on board until 2006 and in that time I survived 5 format changes, three program directors, three APDs, one operations manager, 5 engineers, 4 morning shows, 4 promotion directors, two owners, and three general managers...and what for??? So that they go all the back to the same format from 5 years ago. IMO...if they can...at the very least...keep the same format and same morning show for more than a year...people will not feel like each time they turn on 92.3 its going to be something new. .

No consistancy = no listeners = no ratings = no revenue. Now that Ginty is in charge over there...its very interesting to see what will happen next. I have had the oppurtunity to work with Jason Ginty and I'm actually very optimistic.

Jason has programmed a few great classic rock stations around Louisiana and wonder if we will see more of a rock lean again on 92.3?
