Mix 93.3 posts its highest share since 2000

That, and it and 99.7 The Point are now the de-facto AC's for Kansas City. That Mix had to frequently compete with the station across the hall has been an issue in that cluster for over 30 years now.
Mix leaned more rhythmic last decade to "solve" that problem, but probably always had kind of a pull for AC listeners as well. It'll be interesting now that those two stations completely occupy that void now.

Mix has tried that several times, including when it was down the hall from KUDL. The ratings went down almost every time. It had its highest numbers when Zellner came in and made it more adult friendly.

I think the very early 10s, the more rhythmic direction worked for them, as top 40 as a whole was very rhythmic in like 2011, but later on in the decade it didn't as much. In the '90s it had kind of a dance lean. It became more steady in it's sound when Steve Serrano took over as PD in 2016, but definitely found it's footing the last year and the last year or so is sort of following Zellner's direction which lasted originally from 1996-2010 before trying different sounds.
