Mix 94.1 WVMX is now all-Christmas

Could these next 2 months help 97.7 and 99.5 MAX FM? Maybe they could pick up some of the MIX listeners? Comments?

Since Mix's power increase last month, the only FM stations I can get in Bellevue now are 92.5, 94.1, 98.5, 101.9, 102.7, 105.1, and 107.1. That's it. Max is gone. Mix covers the entire dial from 92.7 to 98.3.

Yea, but that's just Bellevue. Don't you think that people will be looking else where for music variety, and doesn't MAX fill it?

This is probably the same in all of the close-in areas.

The signal on Max is so miserable that they're not going to get many new listeners.

MAX signal, WOXY specifically

Are we talking about WOXY? The reason I ask is that I have heard about the horrible signal, yet I picked it up from Cincinnati on the way back home in Indiana quite well. I headed up north along I-75 to Dayton and never lost it. It fluttered a bit immediately west of Dayton along I-70, but got it back strongly soon and kept it pretty well until I got a bit west of Richmond, Indiana. In fact, I didn't totally lose it until I got within 10 miles of home (which is 50 miles east of Indianapolis). WTGR 97.5 from Greenville was stomping on the signal.

Was I an a strong part of the WOXY signal pattern? This was at night from 12:30-2:30 am. WOXY is all I can speak for since I have never been able to pick up MAX on 99.5 even in Cincinnati proper.

Yes, 97.7.

> Was I an a strong part of the WOXY signal pattern?

WOXY is technically in Oxford, so it would obviously have a much better signal on the northwest side of town.

From about early September to early October, I could finally get WOXY in Bellevue. Then 94.1 started stomping on everything else worse than ever. I even get 94.1 through the police radio scanner. I bet the Bellevue Police can't even use their police radios because they get nothing but Mix through them.

94.1 interference

I bet the interference is being caused by IBOC. I've noticed the buzzsaw noise when I'm tuning past either side of 94.1. I could imagine what it sounds like the closer you are to their transmitter.

For the past month or so, there's been a buzzsaw noise around 94.1 that has interefered with WARM 98 and Q-102, but at least WARM 98 and Q-102 are usually still listenable.

The FCC needs to crack down on this.

Yes. The signal has always been good where you were... because it's flat out there.

To answer luver's original question...

Before I even read your question, I had changed the button in my car from MIX to MAX. Just can't take that Christmas music. I pick up the signal fine in the Kenwood area.

Re: To answer luver's original question...

Now I would think that most people in the surrounding area would do that. Granted the signal isn't the best in some low lying areas (downtown, covington, bellvue, etc.) but the majority of the area is covered. Will First expose themselves more now?
