Mix 94.1

Happy Holidays to all - so anyone listen to Mix lately? To me it sounds a lot fresher and more upbeat than before the X-mas music began last month. I actually like the sound of it now.

I like it too. It's a lot more fresher then both Mix 97.1 in Columbus and Mix 107.7 in Dayton. This sounds like Movin' or The Party with a few CHR/HOT AC mix songs. I think this is the best decision Clear Channel has made to the area since earlier this year if not longer. ;D

Oh yeah!
It sounds much much better. It doesn't sound like it's dying a slow and horrible death.

I like what I'm hearing but wonder why they would go in that direction. Why fix something that's not broke? You can't tell me the firing of the PD and OM was because the station was broke (the numbers were the best in years) it was because of downsizing. Or was it because room needed to be made for a friend to come in and take over? I've heard rumbles that the staff that wasn't fired is NOT happy with the current management situation. How will this music change affect Kiss? Mix and Kiss are playing a who lot of the same songs now when before it was just a few. Will this change in Mix take away the upper demo from Kiss? Will Kiss become even more of a kiddie station now? Will Kiss go even more urban? Why change a station and put it in semi competition with a sister station instead of focusing on how to take numbers away from other stations in the market? I can't see how this music change will take listeners away from MoJo or Warm, the change seems to target a much younger listener.

Mix is playing Kanye West "Gold Digger" now ;D

A lot of the songs Mix is playing would never make it on KISS - very much like a "Movin" format (older up-tempo songs). Although the above would definitely qualify for a KISS song...they play this one on Q as well.

You call those ratings "not broke"? That frequency has had 8 shares 12+ in its past, but never as Mix. 94.1 is a significant underperformer and has been for YEARS. The CCU Mix format developed in the late 90s-early 2000s was a train wreck in lots of markets, Cincy included.

The new moves at Mix are solid (although they can keep Whoopi...what a waste of air). Now that Mojo 94.9 is gone, the market is wide open for this. The "new" Mojo does not serve this audience.

they hadn't even been top ten 25-54 consistently. THAT is *broke(*

They're now playing AC/DC and Guns 'n Roses? I am shocked, to put it mildly. In my book that's WEBN material.

why? according to who?????

Much better. I did notice they are sounding a bit slow during the midday of course because the women are at work. Mornings with Whoopi sounds good and nights and overnights is perfect. Middays will be better if they flip but I am very grateful not to mention impressed with what we now have.
