The best stations are the ones where a programmer has looked over the content and made some effort to keep the flow or pacing going.
Bingo.

It just doesn't make sense to place songs together that don't match in tempo, flow or pace repeatedly. This is just my opinion, but it sounds like crap when it does happen.

In other words, you don't want to play some lovey-dovey ballad into something hardcore (like, say, Ministry). It just doesn't work... at all.

matt- R U in radio?

LOL. Not again. :D

sorry. did i already ask U?

if it's YES i'll repeat what i said earlier-terms like "match of flow", "pace" and "tempo" are not radio listener terms. they are INSIDE RADIO PERSONNEL terms

your listeners only care if they like the songs or not. they don't compare how well a station is produced or the smoothness of segues.

i also think U are talking extremes, celene dion to ministry or ozzy. variety is one thing-those acts on the same station is foolish

This is confusing. Who are you talking to? If me, I agree with you. If you're talking to someone else, I can butt out if that's what you mean by saying "Did I Already ask u?" I meant "Not Again" because of the whole "Matt-are you in radio" comment. Why can't we all just get along as civilized "radio" human beings. :)

Mix 94.1 sounding very rhythmic this weekend. This is sounding VERY good. I am loving their sound. Here's the 3:00 Hour:
Robert Palmer: Addicted To Love
Nickelback- Savin' Me
Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch- Good Vibrations
Linkin Park- In The End
The Time- Jungle Love
Hinder- Lips Of An Angel
The Fugees- Killing Me Softly
Jennifer Lopez- Love Don't Cost A Thing
Soft Cell- Tainted Love
James Blunt- You're Beautiful
Tonic- If You Could Only See
Usher/Lil' Jon/Ludacris- Yeah!
The Pointer Sisters- I'm So Excited
Deee-Lite- Groove Is In The Heart
Prince- U Got That Look
Ace Of Base- The Sign

They were able to fit 16 songs in a hour. Not to mention good songs. It reminds me of the new Fresh 102.7 in NYC but Mix actually sounds BETTER.
