Mix 96.1 automation fail

The last hour or so Mix 96.1 has been looping a voice saying "You are listening to Premiere Events 1 and 2. Events 1 is left-channel, Events 2 is right-channel"

Usually these problems can be fixed remotely. A more massive failure must have required someone to make the trip in to reset things. But NO ONE was there at ANY of the sister stations?

this is one reason why i am a fan of live and local 24/7. things like this wouldn't happen. however you cant blame them, its a corp decision.

WOAI is staffed 24/7 but the board operator was likely unaware - if, as was stated earlier, there were voiced announcements, albeit from the satellite, it wouldn't have been enough to set off the "silence alarms" that would alert the board operators, who generally know how to fix those pesky NexGen issues on other stations.

Many automated stations used to trip up and have two or more things playing at the same time. The silence alarm didn't care.

Me to, I said before, FM use to talk about how XM is not local. But now look at FM.

What about those people out there like me who listen to them on 4 channel Quadrophonic recievers? Any Events 3 for the Left Back and Events 4 for the Right Back Channel? Better have my switch on CD-4. ::)

The discrete nature of the digital stereo in their satellite network allows them to program completely different mono programs on each side of the stereo channel. That's why the event 1 and event 2 IDs on the left and right channels.
