Mix 96 flipped early

I noticed this evening that Mix 96 was already playing Christmas music when they usually don’t start until Thanksgiving, I wonder if it’s because 92.5 The Breeze is flipping now

The Breeze jumped into Christmas on Nov. 1 last year. Mix waited until the Friday before Thanksgiving, like they usually do. This time around, The Breeze held off a week and Mix jumped in a week early.

Mix is still gonna own the holiday ratings, no question. Honestly, The Breeze should’ve stayed with their regular format for the folks who don’t want Christmas music yet. Instead, they’ve basically told the AC listeners, “See ya in six weeks,” and those people are gonna find music somewhere else... and it’s probably not gonna be on FM.

Stuff like this has been happening for years, and it’s a big reason radio keeps losing audience. Nobody’s thinking long-term anymore. Just feels like the whole idea of building a brand went out the window for the sake of a quick ratings bump. Shame, really.
