Has anyone listened to this lately? Last time I had listened they were a pretty soft AC. Today I put the radio on scan and it stopped there and there was a good song on. I tuned in for a while and never heard a bad one. They are definitely not Soft AC now. I would say almost borderline HOT AC with a BIG part of their music being from the 80's. Then at 8 the party mix came on, and that rocked. I heard nothing but great songs the whole time. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I agree 100%. They are NOT a Soft AC but an upbeat AC. That 8PM show is pretty cool. I would listen more if they put a better signal into Virginia Beach. I live in the southern half with really no problems. The further north I go, well, that's a different story...

So you're predicting more than 6 months without an ECRI format switch there? That would be monumental.

Hi Bob,

Was driving around Va Beach, Norfolk, & Chesapeake last Saturday Night with my 18-year old son, and 'KJX held the attention of us BOTH for nearly an hour. They hooked us as we surfed across "Der Kommissar" by After The Fire from '83! We cranked it.
96.7 had some rimshot signal areas, paricularly close to MAX-FM's tower near I-64, but was listenable throughout. The Morning guy, Dino(?), was kickin' butt with all the 80's songs on 'KJX's regular Saturday Night all '80's show. They frequently gave out an Elizabeth City request line number (and my son even wanted to call in).

I could be wrong, but could "Dino" actually be the same Dean (Dean Martin) who was the longtime Production Director at WGH? Whoever the Saturday Night host is, he's doing a great job on the '80's show! It could go syndicated -- I think it's that good.
What I've heard of the station the rest of the time sounds pretty good too. Agreed. Not a "sleepy" wussy A/C!

Pat Bankzzzzzzz!

Dino might be the same from Convergent Broadcasting's "Classic Hits 104-9" WFMZ. Their website doesn't have his pic anymore. Noah is now holding down the 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.(!) shift. Looks like Dino jumped ship to ECRI...

I do like Mix BUT their audio needs much tweaking...

Its "TINO"...he's been at Mix since late March when Sean Gunn bolted to Evansville, IN for a country start-up night shift (and is number ONE 12+ in his first book)...more on Tino at www.novastarentertainment.com

I know, it sounds kinda like Dino (who's back in the fold on Greenwich Road by the way at HRRG now MaxMedia after leaving for short-time I think) The Classic Hits one...I have no idea where he went...but it WASN'T on Parsonage Street Extended
