Even though it wont happen anytime soon, this sounds more like a smarter move. All they have to do is tweak Mix to a more top-40 type of sound.
Ken said:Why wouldn't CBS do a Urban in Houston? As CBS has a Urban in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Washington D.C. plus 5 Rhythmic/CHR's. I just see that Radio One owns both the Urban and Urban AC.
Ken said:Another option would be to take Mix 96.5 the AC route and go up with KODA.

I'd vote for copying KONO or KLUV - both are very highly rated in nearby cities, whose demographics can't be all that different from Houston.

I only say they wouldn't do it because they are so blind to the fact that they have almost everything in place to do it. It would be a smart move. Mix already sounds almost like a CHR (I heard LMFAO's Party Rock air on Mix this morning). Might as well tweak it to go head-to-head against KRBE and tweak Hot to sound more Urban then it almost is. My opinion.
