Geez no answer yet..... I guess I'll try on my Moms computer and see what happens. If it works in there thats gonna such cause that means I have computer error problems. Thanks anyway, and I still appreciate if someone would check the stream for me.... Id appreciate it so much...
Okay, it worked on Moms computer, so i just downgraded back to WMA 10 and it works for me now too. Do you think I should go ahead and move back up to WMA 11, or will it probably not work again. It seems I get slightly better sound out of WMA 11.
Santee-Cooper suffered a nearly 3 hour power outage in our area of town Saturday, and it never occurred to any of us to check on the CPUs we stream with until I went to ours yesterday afternoon to upload some more online-only promos, etc. and saw all the units were off.
I think that was the only issue you were probably dealing with - our not actually streaming since Saturday.
I thought you guys would have back-up power for all your stations. Also Mix 97.7 sometimes goes out during real back thunderstorms. One Saturday morning I was going out this was around 9am and we just had a bad thunderstorm and Mix 97.7 was off the air. So I put on another station. And no not Hot 100, I think they were out too but they seem to also be off the air more then they are on. Thankfully B 92 from Charleston comes in clear around Myrtle Beach a little.
I'm a little fuzzy on this, so I MIGHT be wrong, but if memory serves the FCC's actually a little funny about who can and can't have backup power generators. I don't know why, really. I just remember sitting in a dead-quiet radio building in Louisiana while we awaited the return of power service while a small station 20 miles south of us stayed on the air because they had a generator but (as it was explained to me, anyhow) were using it in violation of the FCC's policy. *shrugs* Not sure.
If a hurricane's approaching, I believe you can apply with FEMA for temporary power generators, but expecting anything "swift" of FEMA is asking for a let-down, too.
