Mix and Hot, The Point and The Eagle; same difference?

Ok, is it just me or does the Houston FM airwaves happen to have two pairs of stations that have similar playlists and happen to be owned by the same company? I heard Katy Perry played almost simultaneously on Hot and Mix the other day. Then over to the high end of the dial and hear the same thing on The Point and The Eagle, only with Def Leppard. I would understand if the similar sounding formats were owned by two different companies, but why is this happening?

The same reason Mega, Hot Hits and Mix were at Splashtown last Saturday and all were within 15 feet of one another and had a playlist of non-Spanish "party mix" music.
Did enjoy watching the personalities belly-flop though.
