Mix Shake-up

Now, we get Elvis competing with MJ. Same shows, different egos.

Speaking of egos, anyone think Nancy's appeal will carry over to the afternoon?

What a joke. You gotta believe that Nancy is under some kind of a contract or obviously tests well in research. Otherwise I can't imagine why she's be shifted to afternoons or even kept on the payroll. The move of Chris to middays is interesting. If they were gonna dump Tesh for live and local, wouldn't you keep Nancy and Chris together in afternoons and move Shriner to middays? This really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Odd woman out could be Kristy Knight as they may slide Tesh to evenings to compete with Delilah. Then again... Tesh hasn't never fit with the Mix music in my opinion anyway. It's too hot of an AC or even closer to a modern AC for Tesh. Maybe they realized that. Oh well... whatever the reasons, I still find it amazing this station has hung on as long as it has. They're right in one thing, PPM is not gonna be kind to Mix. Magic is already seeing declines and Mix continues to suffer as did the old Star... it's no ones #1 choice but the second or third when the other guys are playing commercials.

Maybe it's a ploy to gradually transition them into the new 'Y-100.7' Tampa Bay. Then 'FLZ can revert back into WPDS Paradise 93 taking on 'Tragic' and the Dove moving MJ solely to the AM side. ;D

I would have expected Elvis to be syndicated on 'FLZ because his morning show is for a CHR audience.

At least now they can promote that Elvis Duran can be heard on 100.7 across all of southern Florida.

I liked Elvis better when they were the Z Morning Zoo heard exclusively on Z100. Morning shows should be local, not beamed in from 1000 miles away. It would feel weird hearing Elvis Duran complain about a snowstorm in New York City on a local station in Tampa.

Gee-isn't HOT AC the new CHR? Besides, if they drop Tesh, I think this could be an improvement. Or they could extend Kristi till 12 AM and put Tesh overnights and at least there is no robojock voice.

Likewise, you can hear ichael Smerconish complain about a snowstorm in Philadelphia on a local station in Tampa.

You obviously haven't heard the show lately. But seriously, every Floridian loves to hear NYers complain about the snow so they can brag about their weather more!

Chris might not do middays live, they might have him VT it and do production.

Actually... most of us dont care to hear any loud-mouth nyers talking period!

Actually, that makes you a small minded stereotyper. Sort of sad. Most of YOU aren't the CHR demo...but their show does well all over the country including Miami. Maybe talk for YOU and not us. Just a thought.

Elvis Duran is okay, but I think Presley LeBon has a better show.

It looks like that will be the case. Apparently he's moving to Louisville to do a morning show there and handle middays here (either remotely or VT'ed more likely).

So Chris will be doing the live show for Kentucky, but voicetrack the one airing in the higher-ranked market?

Daypart over market size.... live morning show and a very low-cost VT for middays, which wasn't going to be personailty driven anyway.

Real live:

1) Elvis from NYC ( will he come to Tampa to do remotes from Burger King? ) Doo Wah Doo Wah Doo Wah Ditty----talkin 'bout------------

2) Chris from Louisville ( WAKY or WKLO?)

3) Nancy and Shriner (live) Hey----if it works

4) Kristi Knight (live or not?)

5) Tesh at 10PM I presume until Robo takes over at 2AM or 3AM however long Tesh is on.

Too bad Tesh can't hand over to Elvis.

If Stern is "King of all Media", what is this Elvis?

"Ole Kentucky Rain" covers the whole agenda

Interesting. Louisville is also where CC has a new format, one which I suggested Mix move towards to remain fresh and relevant. That station would be 100.5, Gen-X Radio. For a CC run radio station... I have to admit, it's pretty good. I wonder if that's where he's going.
