Kristi Knight (live or not?)

Haven't you heard? In 2009, 7 PM shifts and even 10 AM shifts don't require the body to be warm.

Riggie,

Do you still VT afternoons in Louisville? It was strange listening to you there (after hearing you all these years in Tampa) when I was in town on business...

Actually... most of us dont care to hear any loud-mouth nyers talking period!

Actually, that makes you a small minded stereotyper. Sort of sad. Most of YOU aren't the CHR demo...but their show does well all over the country including Miami. Maybe talk for YOU and not us. Just a thought.

It will be VOICETRACK. He either already moved or is moving away from Tampa.]

Now, we get Elvis competing with MJ. Same shows, different egos.

Speaking of egos, anyone think Nancy's appeal will carry over to the afternoon?

She should be happy she has a job. I have seen others much better gotten the pink slip.

Nope. They made the Fox an Alternative on premium choice. I segued over to nights on QMF. That's my hometown so I do whatever I've got to stay on there.

Can two people work in the afternoon?

How long were Randy Brooks and Dave McKay the afternoon show on WQYK? I think that answer is yes....

I think you answered your own question, emphasis on the word "were". I think what Ms. Music Radio was asking was whether or not two people could co-host a radio show in afternoon drive today.

Yeah, it was so unsuccessful that they made them the morning show a few weeks ago. Doesn't make any negative statement regarding team shows in the afternoon, they were just better than what the station had been doing in the morning (and think about what you said.. they were a success a few weeks ago but it no longer holds true today? Do things change that fast?)

Of course things don't change that fast. QYK was "king of the heap" for a long time and it seemed everything worked. They even had Skip Mahaffey winning awards on TV ( where is he ?) Mix seems to be in a constant retooling mode. I like the music and it would be cool if something worked. Magic never changes but is always "new". That is amazing. Hot AC's that I've listened to online seem to have a similiar sound like in Minneapolis, Akron, Virginia Beach, and the venerable WPLJ . I think Magic sucks and I'd love to see Mix be a success. As in Pittsburgh, I think WSHH ( like Magic) is boring and Star 100.7 is better for my tastes. It just seems PM teams are rare and I hope it works, but I thought Hot AC is about the music and most don't even use a jingle package. If they are going to run a talk show in PM drive, I guess I'll stick with Q105 . For those who care (?) and since I have never been contacted by Arbitron , my presets are Magic, Mix, the Point, Q105, WDUV, and WXGL. That is just my number one presets. I consider 4 of those by default.

If WJQB had a consistent signal in Tampa, I would put it on my first presets. Even though I am a "liberal", I don't enjoy listening to WMNF cause I find it too talky and it's just preaching to the converted in my case. I want music intensive programming , but with live jocks kinda like a Drake/Chennault station. Know any? If Mix would go live 24/7 and do it like Drake, I'd be in radio nirvana. Hot AC is really CHR minus Rap and Heavy Metal ( although that might not be what it is called anymore) and I think a Drake approach would be refreshing and innovative.

The new website is up. Elvis Duran looks nothing like Elvis or anybody in Duran Duran. He needs to return the name and take something that fits his look like Bill Howser. Chris Randolph is a great radio face. Kristi Knight is still there and so is Tesh. Robo keeps his/her gig from 2AM to 6AM. I sorta felt for Robo's family if Tesh was moved into overnights.

What is the target-market of the asinine new morning show? Where exactly is the Elvis Duran show "hot?" I listened briefly this morning on my drive in ... on three separate occasions ... and I can't get past asinine. I seriously don't think that I will even try to listen again.

Since it must origionate from Z100 in NYC, I would presume 18 to 21. I guess it is hot if the publicity folks say it is.

You are way too old to be the demo. Where are they hot? I looked it up. Many cities including #1 in NY, #1 in Miami and #1 in Philly, #2 in Richmond among others. I heard the show today. Found it very entertaining and original.

Since Im not awake between the hours of 2am and 6am, can someone enlighten me a bit on who exactly "Robo Jock" is? Is it simply a jockless shift, or is there some robot sounding voicetracker that comes on?

LOL - yes, perhaps I am too old ... although I really don't care for the Dove or Warm either; however, I find the new morning show's "schtick" to be distasteful. They did read some emails from listeners this morning and it appears that their listeners are in high school. I hope the target market's audience has enough $$$$ to keep the show's advertisers in business ... and if not, I hope their parents do! Plus, their high schoolers are all in school by 7:30 am and really aren't listening beyond that point - so why even have the last hour and a half - IMH and OLD Opinion.
