mixing it up at "moon radio"

As the old song from ACE asks... "how long has this been going on?"... but I just noticed that 1160 WABY "The Moon" is running Dial Global's standards format, overnights and mornings, until Noon, then resuming their "regular" (perhaps more) traditional standards the rest of the day.

Maybe not to some... but to me these are two distinctly different formats. DG's format lies heavy with Carpenters, Bread, Sinatra, Mathis etc. While the Moon's standards are way more instrumental in nature. Big band variety... Rosemary Cloony-ish perhaps? I happen to prefer the DG format myself-- whereby the "standard Moon" has been clicking the dial.

So is it me, or is the difference between night & day more obvious than ever ???

I've noticed that too...probably putting them in direct losing competition with WROW much of the day. The DG format is also locally on 1410-WENU in Glens Falls...

Wasn't sure if 1410 still had DG... since they can't be heard south of Saratoga. In Albany proper though, DG (America's Best Music) is already carried by 1190 WSDE Cobelskill and 1230 WHUC Hudson.

I like WROW's music blend, but their formatics drive me crazy!
