Mix's Disappointing 'Theme Weekend' (Where's the Dance Music??)

I was hopeful now that Limardi finally actually put his picture on the website, that he'd do a theme weekend properly. When did Edwin McCain's 'I'll Be' and Keith Urban and Matchbox 20's 'Unwell' become Dance music? If you're going to do a theme weekend, then DO IT!! Just calling a weekend 'Classic Dance Mix Weekend' isn't enough. You have to actually PROGRAM the music. Next time, just call it 'Memorial Day Weekend Kickoff' and leave it at that if you're going to be too lazy to take the time to actually program the music.

I hope this rhythmic AC format should work like the way Mix 102.7 did in New York City is change the slogan. First, keep the name "Mix 97.7" and dropped the slogan "Hudson Valley's Best Music Mix" and call it "Hudson Valley's Classic Dance Mix" just like they use the slogan in New York City. This classic dance thing should work just like the old Rhythm 94.3 did 5 years ago when they flipped from jammin' oldies to 50's and 60's oldies as Cool 94.3.If Cumulus will someday be giving its owner, like Clear Channel did with WBPM (92.9) and WGHQ (920) where Pamal bought it, CBS Radio needs to buy more radio clusters like Poughkeepsie and even a few stations in Hudson Valley including Catskill and Ellenville where one of the Clear Channel Lite-FM's like 99.3 and 98.5 are in bad shape right now except for "The Wolf" which is on one of the two stations like 94.3 and 97.3. These two stations are in trouble right now is going to hurt WRWD, because it's a very successful country station for over the last 15 years. Here's the plan, the problem is that WBPM needs to move the calls back to 94.3 and it should call it B94 again as a top 40/CHR station. WBPM on 92.9 is not working for this format. Bring it back to 94.3 and leave 97.3 alone as "The Wolf". Oldies is going to die on 92.9 and 93.5 and it's going to extinct on FM. Bring the oldies format to AM and put it on 1450 AM where they doing it's standards thing as WKIP. That's the plan. Again, Mix 97.7 needs to have a classic dance format like WNEW did in New York City. Hopefully if these stations doesn't get the numbers.

Remember that this was only a theme weekend. Mix 97.7 isn't switching to a classic dance format. Also, 99.3 and 92.1 Lite FM are doing fine. They skyrocket during the holidays too.Mix 102.7 is failing miserably. The Wolf is actually doing horribly.CBS Radio won't buy more stations just to have a certain format. The last ratings from WNEW was below a 2 share!Your information doesn't seem to make much since.

I don't see Mix 97.7 changing its format to classic dance anytime soon.

What about 98.5? They still got Bob & Sheri on. I listened to it on the radio as well as the podcast edition.
Mix 102.7 is failing miserably.
I know. I remember Rhythm 94.3 when it was a great station than Mix 102.7 is doing bad.
The Wolf is actually doing horribly.
WRWD is a much better country station than The Wolf. Maybe 94.3 will change its format soon and leave 97.3 alone. If the Yankees game are doing horribly on FM, bring the Yankees game back to WKNY in Kingston like they did 2 years ago. That is another Cumulus station where WKNY is still playing AC. It's going to hurt one of the Lite-FM's and Mix 97.7's. WKNY had no ratings during the last Arbitrons. I think it's a good idea to flip WKNY to Radio Disney soon if they didn't keep it's act together. WKNY has a weak signal, Poughkeepsie doesn't really get much signal. What's happening.
CBS Radio won't buy more stations just to have a certain format. The last ratings from WNEW was below a 2 share!
Look what CBS Radio is doing. Rochester and Buffalo has more stations owned by CBS Radio as well as New York City has three FM stations that are doing bad. I don't see CBS Radio buying more stations in the Hudson Valley anytime soon if Culumus is soon to be getting out of the picture or maybe the folks at Pendell Rd. won't get its act together. Will see what happens.
