MJ announcement Monday morning

This is from his website.

MJ has a BIG announcement to make on Monday morning at 7:40 AM EST / 6:40 AM CT. This announcement will have a lasting impact on the future of all aspects of the morning show and its cast. You don’t want to miss it.

It's probably going to be some scheme against Hot... or some B level player from the show is leaving. Doubtful MJ is.
Didn't he and BJ finally kiss and make up?

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

Great, another "big announcement"? Seriously, can we stop all the hype and teasing....

The announcement was that Fester and his wife are expecting. Considering how ill he was recently, I think this is great news.

I did also notice that most of the feedback on the new format is negative. Like others I enjoy listening to MJ and the team talk about various things, even if I don't always agree with the view point.

Cutting out an hour of the show and filling up the rest with a lot of music is a mistake in my opinion.

I've always chuckled over the fact that what the audience (as a whole) says they want so often is different from what the ratings say they do want. The change to more music is not just a random, capricious act. It is certainly a reaction to new data derived from PPM. Now whether they've made the right adjustments remains to be seen, but changes clearly had to be made.

Who cares if a member of the show is having a baby? I don't really see how this "announcement" affects the listener in any way. If anything, they just lost some credibility with their audience. If you're going to set an appointment with the listener, you better provide a payoff.

You mean they even had any audience credibility ???

OK, I guess the general public isn't as cynical as most of us on this board are...

enjoy the day...

the mj morning show is bad and the todd schnitt show is worse. just goes to show you, you can buy up all the stations in the market, but if you don't have the talent.......terrestrial radio in this market is god awful. Cowhead and Ron/Ian are the only shows worth listening too in my humble opinion.

Tampa Radio is pretty sad.

But, as the tease from the MJ website promises, it "will have a lasting impact on the future of all aspects of the morning show and its cast."

And your point is...? Unless they're going to pay a listener off everytime the baby farts, NOBODY CARES. MJ can pretty much attribute his current situation to the fact that he (and FLZ) stopped caring about his/their listeners years ago.

MJ is going to be the DJ who cried wolf with all of these supposed "announcements".

You guys are miserable... thats why there is so much hate around these boards. MJ's show has huge numbers... especially with the target demo... which is 18-34 females. And good numbers 25-54 females. Their 18-34 women demo is the BABY MAKING DEMO. And women love hearing and RELATING to this from their have morning show (their P1's)... so this is a GOOD thing for the show. Why not capitalize on it? You guys need to look DEEPER. Not from a "dude" point of view.

If I remember correctly, the last trend shows that they've fallen to 9th in their demo...not exactly huge numbers.

Waiting on the edge of my toilet seat for this "big announcement." Geez................. ;D
