MJ gets 3 air talents fired!

Kovacs, you and your team will be missed man. I just wanted to let you know that there is plenty of those out here who loved your program. I was one of them, like you said one of the last few shows remaining the was listener interactive. I loved the concept and overall sound of your show. It was real, and laid back like you said. I listened to it for years, and enjoyed every minute of it and I wasn't even drunk when I listened. lol. It was just a great program. Sorry to hear you won't be returning to radio, I was going to mention a station possibly up the dial with another company. I always thought the MJ bits where the greatest, but I think with the whole Bubba attacks going on and then that bit just kind of sent MJ over board. But its radio, a business none the less. But, still things are done for entertainment. In your case thats what it was. I heard the actual bit that went over, when it happened and was crying I was laughing so hard because ive listened to MJ for years, back when he still had BJ on the show. 933FLZ won't be the same, but hey thats alright because you were great at what you did. Its a lose for WFLZ.

It's the ghost of Randy Michaels! The legacy of The Power Pig lives on!!!!

But, hey, at least this time they're attacking their own...

I think the point that some are missing is that this is a habitual thing for MJ... the list goes on and on. Another list that goes on and on is the list of people he's trashed mercilessly on his show. I remember back in 94 or 95, listening to MJ call up and poke fun at a grieving mother who had just lost one of her children. The guy has no class and is a total hypocrite.

I believe this be a completely FALSE statement. I emailed MJ and he did finally write me back stating that CEDRIC'S claim NEVER happened. I also doubted it because the show is never cruel. Poking fun is one thing, but malicious cruelty is another. MJ also remembered that it was another DJ who was actually sued over the comments.

I did a quick search and here's the link to the story 10 years ago:

I'm surprised that nobody else came to Mj's defense, as you all know that's not the style of his broadcasts.

I remember when Bubba did that, and yes, that was scuzzy... but I'm talking about a different incident...

this has nothing to do with bubba!!! Im NOT a Bubba mark...but all you MJ lovers are just blinded by this! If it was Mason Dixon that played the Famous MJ Parody you wouldn't make a big deal of it! If it was Bubba, you all would jump on the band wagon to remove him from the airwaves! AirWatch900Mhz it seems to me that your jealous of Bubba? Or are you the type that talks just hear your self? I don't know.....I just think that it funny how you all have moved this from being a simple post to 5 pages of crap!!!! Its not funny that 3 very talented DJ lost their jobs over a Parody about MJ and his family, when MJ talks smack daily about the Spears family, Lindsey Lohian Jessica Serria.....That one is a classic, one day in Dec.2007 I heard him on the air saying how he wanted to help Jessica get her chance to sing at the White House from Jail! By having her sing over the phone and have someone @ the White House hold the phone up so could sing along with the group! 3 weeks later he is dumping all over her, calling her White Trash and everything else!! But these guy do a parody of him joking about his kid on crack and shit, and he blows his top......I really hope he now knows what that feels! Now he would have a chance to see how the family members of those that he Sh*t on feels!! I doubt he does.....Oh MJ PETA Director Michael McGraw, knows about the condition of your bird!!!! There is a saying what goes around, comes around 3 fold!!! When it hits, I wanna be there to see the fall out!! Bottom
Line Stop pulling in people like bubba to make MJ look like the good guy!!! Its Sicking to read this sh*t day after Day!!! Aren't there more news worthy stories you all can rip apart?

This has happened on other threads where Butters has had it out for MJ. I am not saying he is the easiest guy to work for or with. In my experience with him in the 2 years I was in the building I had no issue with him. He is ok by my book.

All of the people you mentioned in your rant Butters are "celebrities". The topics are reported news. More to the point he talks about the INDIVIDUAL and not the entire family.

As far as being a Bubba mark? Say what you want but your sure put yourself over as a mark. IMHO. Bubba can say what he wants about MJ, and vice-versa. That is the business. You have crossed a line when you attack someones family. There is nothing wrong with jokes about a personality or celebrity. But to slander someones kid or innocent family member? Too far. I don't care what your feelings about a person are. There is a line you just don't cross.

If you do cross it and see no problems with it then I am glad you don't share an office with me. No offense intended there. I just choose to work with folks who treat people a little better.

There is no winner in this situation. It is an unfortunate circumstance that cant be changed now. The guys fired are friends of mine. They said something wrong. I think the situation was extremely misjudged and now the loser here is a good station with great talent at a loss in the end.

Its not about how horrible a person so and so is and what side of the street they work on. It is about a line in the sand where decency and morals live. Cross it and you deserve what comes to you. Good things happen to good people. The rest just whine about it on websites.

Just my thoughts. Don't take any of it personally and I hope I made sense.

I'm still mulling over the Klingeon quote. I'm worried about you FiveStar.

I am a lowly radio listner. Ive loved radio since Larry Lujack "abused" Muscrat love. I listen to alot of radio and didn't really care about the inner workings of radio. I dont listen to schnitt very often i switch back and forth between Cow and Miller. But i really have a different take on the little bastard now. I am definitly not a peta fan, heck i hunt, fish and eat the heck out of a steak, but this is something that really pisses me off. Right up there with people who tie the dogs to trees and think that giving it a dog house and water is being a good pet owner.

The big question was, "Was the bit funny?" Answer: No.

All sorts of rumors grow out of falsehoods and jokes. No child needs to be the victim of gossip, true or false, regarding crack. It's tough enough being a teenager, without some lamebrains targeting you with fodder for rumor and innuendo. That's my take and I'm not even a dad.

Now....if it had been funny.....nah. Not even then.

Rule of thumb if you're gonna be a man about it: Never pick on someone smaller than yourself. A little girl is not fair game for three idiot men.

What are you talking about??? The bit was hilarious! The nod to Phil Hendrie was priceless, and no one was harmed, it was satire! Satire is one of radio's most cherished and honored pastimes. These guys probably did deserve to be canned, but not because of this bit! Am I the only person here who listened to the clip and realized that they weren't making fun of his kid... they were poking fun at HIM. I'd be willing to wager that if this poor child ever heard the clip, they'd be laughing too.

If you have ever met MJ, worked with him, or even listened to his show once, you'd have to find this clip amusing. If you don't think it's funny, then you just don't understand what this guy is really all about. Like it or not, these guys summarized Todd's tired shtick in under 2 minutes. Personally, I laughed until my sides were sore, then I went back and listened again.
