MJ is suing Bubba.......if anything its makes great Radio!

What the heck are you talking about?

1. Felony is criminal. This is a civil case.
2. The fact that he is out of the country and can't comment means his lawsuit is frivolous?

I am sure this case is mostly just to get publicity for each of them.

Count me among the few that couldn't care less about MJ vs Bubba.

Yawn.

The funny thing is, MJ and his wife are asking for a Jury trial....Now correct me ( and I know a few will) if im wrong but aren't we all in the radio industry performers, I always thought so! We Entertain listeners.....so if you can't entertain your listeners on the air and judging by the last trend he is losing listeners....its only natural for him to change the venue.....but a court venue? And for what, ratings? PLEASE!!! YOUR WASTING OUR TAX DOLLAR, SO YOU CAN CRY ABOUT NOT BEING # 1 IN THE MARKET!! Grow up!!!

If MJ is doing anything, he's about to screw himself. The first thing that comes to my mind is you mean to tell me that MJ has NEVER said anything of the same nature about someone on the air? Come on! He's probably guilty a dozen times over of the same offense he's accusing Bubba of. Besides that, he's doing nothing but giving Bubba publicity which that guy eats up. Really poor and very surprising move by Schnitt. Even though Bubba's got some hot numbers upon his return, I've never thought the 2 really share the same audience. So in my opinion the pissing contest is stupid except for the fact that Bubba has apparently gone after the CC guy with the biggest target.

Wow! I can hardly believe my eyes. This kind of feels like those stupid rapper on rappper beefs that appear to be thinly veiled attempts to move units. If this actually goes to trial, I won't know what to say about our litigation system. I always knew rich folk could sue over anything, but this is ridiculous.

Oh boy, here we go. Two of the biggest, megalomaniacal, narcissistic attention whores that ever opened a mic are going after each other in court.
Thanks, guys, for dropping a gigantic turd on radio's rank-and-file ... those of us who have stayed our posts while others cut and ran during the hellish buyouts of Evil Empires over the last 15 years.
Thanks for so eloquently representing the 5% of air talent that make 95% of the money, and for sentencing that 95% to endure the certain "So what do think about Bubba and MJ?" questions that come from the mouth-breathing minions whose ever waking moment hinges on the drivel they call radio.
Great radio?
I think you've forgotten what GREAT radio is.
... a saddened Bear heads back to the lair.

I sent this earlier [email protected]

Dear Todd,
I cannot believe you are whining about what "Bubba" said. You want a jury trial? Please do not tie up the court system with your spineless little problems.

I cannot believe you are on EXTREME TALK XM-152. Your show should be moved to the KID'S CHANNEL!

Grow up,

Stuart Greenberg

(This will show them, how stupid this whole thing is!) ;) ;)

If this is true, and iguess it is,does he not have other people on the show to tell him this is a bad idea? I am not an in the biz but this is really stupid. Someone should have called him aside and told him many listners do not like silly lawsuits. Speaking for myself,i think this gives me a peak into his psych. whoa...he has issues

Todd doesn't have to ask anyone's permission to file suit and no one in management really has the leverage to stop him from doing it anyway. Todd has a lot of positives, but one of them is NOT an ability to take advice from people telling him something he doesn't want to hear. By making him one of the 5% making 95% percent of the money (thanks for that comparison Bear) management has effectively taken the restraints off of him and no one has enough leverage to stop him from doing something like this.

I figure I'll take whatever amusement I can get out of watching two guys who epitomize the state of radio blowing a lot of money on an ego driven lawsuit that will do nothing more than clog the courtrooms with a personal grudge match.

Oddly enough, I've worked in the building with both of them and they have always been cordial and professional in their dealings with me. If I had any advice for either of them, I would tell them that such things do no credit to either of them, but who's gonna stop 'em?

Wasn't MJ suing a DJ back in Virginia Beach when he was with some CHR at war with z-104 or Q 104.5 as it might have been. I think he was with 97.3 when it was CHR. The legend grows.

Now I remember--------MJ was on WGH evenings against D.B.Cooper on 104.5. D.B. implied that M.J. was not exactly straight and if memory serves me-----it got nasty. Don't recall the ending

MJ had his attorneys ask Bubba to apologize for the remarks. Bubba did not. That is why the lawsuit was filed. This all could have been avoided had Bubba taken just a minute to say that no harm was meant by his remarks.

After all is said and done, the ones who will walk away with the most money from this mess will be the lawyers! :-\

I can. That channel is basically Clear Channel's appeasement dump for shows that they don't want to leave them. They would never put those shows on Talk Radio 165 in their current state.

By apologizing, that basically means Bubba admits defeat, and if you truly think you're in the right you can't just join Apology Tour 07-08. Plus I'd imagine it would hurt Bubba's credibility in the eyes of his listeners, as if trashing Howard Stern years ago and then joining him didn't do some already. I certainly wouldn't apologize if I felt the lawsuit was frivolous.

By the way, does anyone have the audio? MJ's claiming stuff and then Bubba's saying he didn't say it. I'm sure someone archives his shows.

Who cares who was right. I think it's great. Reminds me of old school radio when stations were always live and did feud for the market. It may have not gotten this nasty all the time, but it is an antidote to voice tracking and/or going jockless. I can remember stations pulling stunts on each other in markets with 2 or more competing CHR's. It was always 'the Good Guys" against the "Funlovin" 5 0r 6. WABC VS. WMCA !!!!!!!!

How many people commenting here have actually taken the time to read the legal complaint that is posted earlier in this thread? It clearly shows someone (Bubba) who has crossed the line. Calling someone's wife a "whore" while hiding behind a microphone, continually referring to someone as a thief and a snitch, urging listeners to take verbal or physical action against someone, etc. People like Bubba can be dangerous when they demonize someone because many of his listeners are mindless hero-worshippers along the lines of Charlie Manson's followers. Who knows what could happen if someone like Bubba continually urges listeners to get in MJ's face in public.

Both Cox and Bubba have some explaining to do.

Tampa Dan...here's an idea if you are a on air jock, why don't you tell us what station you work for so we can pick apart your show! You seem to know more than Bubba does!!

Bubba has Hulk Hogan as his bodyguard and MJ has Glen Beck as his...

Actually I would rather listen to Phil Hendrie, now that guy was great comedy. Too bad he left a couple years back!
