Is MJ working in another stunt? Or he's really quiting?

As usual... another lame attempt at fooling the listeners. They're even setting up the gag online with a domain he registered a few years ago:

LISTENERS!!!
Here's what you need to do if anything were to happen to www.mjmorningshow.com!
If for some reason, something drastic were to happen with the MJ Morning Show web site, visit the site MJ owns, www.RadioMJ.com. There is no homepage, and nothing is currently up, but if need be, it would be updated with important information.

This had to be a bit of MJ's, Was anyone taking pictures of the Book Rep?? was there a realy a book Rep at the Station?

Generally when somthing is going on MJ tells the interns to take a picture of the person of the moment to put on the website, he would have wanted a picture of the person taking the books away, I Doubt anyone was at the station.

This sounds like a MJ style bit to get people to stayed tuned for more..

The only way I could see him quitting is if what he said about there being a national syndication offer up for his afternoon show is true, and he takes that gig.

I'm not back in Tampa to hear this rubbish first hand...THANK GAWD. Such a lame stunt is an insult to many of us in the business, and the listeners in general. Even sadder...such pranks (assuming that's what this is) will invariably get some attention in the paper or on TV. :-[

aka same crap different station/personality. MJ did it, Bubba did it even Cowhead did it. anyone who works/worked in radio knows these anncient clowns have nowhere to go and are just blowing smoke.

Same old crap - year in and year out.

MJ's self-centered morning radio schtick got me tuned out day one.
His afternoon propagandafest is sure to get syndicated. Look what Glen Beck did with the same type of ultra right wing spew programing.

Hate all you want kids. MJ WINS!!! That is the bottom line. He can do whatever stunts he wants. I does not matter when or how many times you assume it has been done. If he wins then what he is doing works. You might not like it...so dont listen to it. I am a fan.

Not a problem. I became tired of his antics and quit listeneing to him when BJ left. BTW, I heard BJ the other day while streaming Alice 105.9 in Denver and he sounded good. I was surprised to hear him on an Entercom station in Colorado when he was leaving Tampa to do bigger and better things for CC in Ohio (if I remember correctly). I suppose CC did something to cause his departure like so many other talents. Anyway, I'm glad he's doing well and would gladly trade him for MJ any day. ;D

Jack, Ted & Sharon OR Mark Larsen are all better tham MJ in the AM... and I'm starting to think that even Dave Ramsey and especially Dennis Miller are better than Schnitt... A number of us @ work are just tired of his same old crap on WFLA...

Yeah, MJ/Schnitt sucks so bad he's usually number one or two 25 -54 in mornings and afternoons. Yeah, that's no big deal, it's done all the time, right?

yea, haha...everyone always complains on how MJ sucks...but yes, he is always on TOP. All of your complaining about the show actually brings more attention to it. How many hundreds of thousands of people hate Howard Stern? I don't see Howard starving.....neither is MJ.

Without directly commenting on Todd's shows...

Let me point out how many people bought Britney Spears records in 1999.

A WHOLE BUNCH

Mass appeal and talent/quality don't always go together. The only reason he draws a crowd, is because he has no competition. I thought that was obvious ??? I think you've forgotten how good talk radio used to be here... either that, or you're a newbie. And in that case, GET OFF MY COMPUTER.

P.S.

Faraway, you're still way too obvious. Maybe you should be a little more discrete with your brown nosing.

At one time, Q105's Cleveland Wheeler had huge ratings and was considered untouchable until Power 93 blew him and the rest of the station out of the water.

Big differennce, Cedric. Britney was a quick flash in the pan, while Todd's been banging out big numbers for years...with a co-host and without, up against Bubba and not, then on to news/talk in Miami, blowing away market legends Rick and Suds and Hank Goldberg in one book and doing even better in Tampa. And the train keeps on rolling. This ain't no one hit wonder...you don't have to like him, but please, respect his success.

And sorry, pal I do not work with or for or am I connected with MJ/Schnitt shows.

Just been around.

Well, I will say that I run the MJ Fan Page, so I'm somewhat connected to the show. But as others have pointed out, his numbers speak for themselves whether you love both of his shows or avoid 93.3 between 6 and 10 and 970 between 3 and 6 like the plague. Yes, unfortunately the competition in this market has vanished. You still can't overlook the fact that he's pulled great numbers consistently for several years, which can be quite a challenge, even for far more seasoned radio veterans than him. No other hosts come to mind who pull double-duty day in and day out and have huge numbers with both shows, either. Being biased, of course, I think we're lucky he is still in Tampa and hasn't moved on to bigger and better markets where he's had numerous offers.
