MJ quiting morning show

According to a tweet from Todd Schnitt, February 17 will be that last day of the MJ Morning show on FLZ. I guess Bubba on 102.5, and HOT 101.5 were a one, two punch to MJ.

I wonder who benefits?

'FLZ, now able to better compete with HOT 101.5's music-intensive, PPM friendly format, or HOT, which may pick up listeners who only tuned to FLZ for MJ's show.

Then again, I'm sure many of MJ's listeners have aged-out of CHR. Perhaps they end up scattered among Q105, Play, Mix and Magic.

Did it ever occur to you guys, that maybe the two shows were a bit much while trying to raise a family at the same time?
I thought he would end MJ long before that due to personal and professional time conflicts.

He probably gets up at 3am for the 6am-10am show. Then comes back to the studio for prep at 3pm. for another 3 hour show. Maybe gets home by 7pm, at the earliest.

Try doing that schedule for awhile.

I have a lot of respect for him able to keep it up for over 10 years!!!

Ratings???? I doubt it.

Yes M.J. has been in that timeslot for 18 years. Last rumor I heard was FLZ running Kane's show from D.C. in that timeslot. Would be a good fit IMO.

How about the return of Elvis Duran In the Morning Show on FLZ 93.3
Elvis would be my vote.

Since CC wants to duplicate their stations, that would be the easiest.

Localization??? that must be a thing of the past, now. Leave New York and take it with you - the radio version of having your cake and eat it, too.

Great! Hopefully the Schnitt Show is next. ;D

Wishful thinking - the extra time will allow him to promote his afternoon talk show now more than ever. In fact, he plans a tour of affiliate cities this year...

Schnitt is a native of New York, incidentally.

No, he lived in New York, but he is from Virginia Beach.

Years ago Schnitt was in an on air pissing contest with one D.B. Cooper (not the jumber) when Tidewater had a CHR war between Z104.5 and WGH-FM. There were some nasty allegations if I remember.

Call him, on air, and ask him. That story would make for a great radio story.

Every once in awhile he has a segment called, "ask Schnitt anything."

I noticed that Nancy Alexander recently launched her Nancy Alexander Show facebook page. CC wouldn't hire her back to replace MJ, would they?
