MESSAGE: ON SCENE OF A VEHICLE FIRE 4202 GANDY BLVD AT THE CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO COMPLEX APPARENTLY A RADIO STUNT WENT AWARY REPORTEDLY INJURING 1 RADIO STAFF PERSON & ALSO CAUSING A TAMPA FIRE FIGHTER A BACK INJURY WHILE EXTINUISHING THE FIRE. THE RADIO STATION DID NOT HAVE ANY PERMITS OR EMERGENCY CREWS STANDING BY. TAMPA & STATE FIRE MARSHALL ARE INVESTAGATING
 
MJ, How many time have you been told.....STOP! DROP! and ROLL!! The drop part should be easy considering your only a few feet off the ground! More importantly....WHO on your the staff was injuried?
 
Cue up Adam Sandler! Station should use his Turkey song and stunt it. ;D
 
The only thing missing from this "stunt" was having contestants drink a boatload of water so they could wee on this fire for a wii.
 
Where's mr. stand up for law enforcement/first responders now????? The sound coming from Schnitt is deafening. It's the MJ RADIO NETWORK, he is ultimately responsible for what went wrong this morning. I realize it's a radio stunt, done the last day of broadcast for the show and they got the pub they wanted, but a Tampa Firefighter, a 26-year veteran captain got hurt because of it.........Mr. Schnitt, if he is the standup guy he claims to be and a true champion for the first responders, needs to apologize, make a comment, something.


tbo apparently got him - 'no comment' was his response, I'll call you back - i hope the fireman recovers quickly and sues him and clear channel for every dime they have.
 
Probably no one noticed since they had their I-Pods and MP3 players jamming.
What a stupid stunt, in today's litigious world. What person over 25 who might have listened thought this was funny.

MusicMan you got a point, where are the regular suspects that are on here defending MJ? Burlander isn't on here preaching the word of MJ and what radio god he is? Where is Fester.....oh wait i know where he is, he's crusing All Access for a new gig! Why can't MJ leave the stunts to Real Professional Radio Personallities!!
 
These people are IDIOTS!

First off, you NEVER deep fry a frozen turkey! EVER!!! The turkey fiyers say this ALL OVER THEM! Second, you NEVER use a turkey deep fryer in an enclosed area-you have to use them OUTSIDE in an open area with at least 15 foot overhead clearance. AGAIN the fryers ALL say this! These perople are obviously MORONS who CAN'T READ DIRECTIONS! They deserve what they got-and I hope they are brought up on criminal and civil charges.

CHR jocks are so immature. They focus on doing that crap instead of what they should be doing which should be getting back to listeners when they leave messages!!
 
The lamest corporate excuse...they meant to show how dangerous this could be....now...who...even beyond the most rural redneck among us....would ever cook something like that in a van?


Time to go....really...I mean, this wasn't funny in an awkward moment, embarassing sort of way....it was just plain stupid.
 
Did they at least use a helicopter to fly a banner that read, "Happy Holidays from W F L Z?" I think not, because Les Nessman would have ordered it.
