MLB Extra Innings

Does anyone have this package? I just recently got it. Its alright, to bad they only pick one game to be in HD. Also its horrible they pick the FOX Sports RSN's because FOX is the only one with the black bars on top and bottom. Doesn't look that great fixing the aspect to hide those bottom and top black bars. Anyone else problems regarding Extra Innings?

Also why is FOX the only one with the top and bottom black bars? CBS, NBC, ABC, ESPN all have their graphics set for both viewers. Like with CBS and ESPN they place their score bugs in the center unlike FOX which places it in the top left corner.

That's the inDemand package. I've had this package for years with DirecTv. Most if not all feeds are in HD and for most games the home and away feed are available. I watch the Red Sox on NESN for all games except some where the Sox are away and the home team requires NESN to be blocked to non New England areas. The Yankees seem to do that so that I can only watch the game on YES. They really seem to be the only team that has done this.

Here on Time Warner they only have 2 HD feeds for MLB. And only one feed for each game you don't get to pick. For example this past weekend only the FS Southwest feed was available for the Red Sox at Rangers 3 game series. I think after NHL they may have two feeds for all games. Not sure this is my first year having the MLB Extra Innings package.

I've had Extra Innings one year. They like to have only one feed for each game available, as opposed to, say, when you can get two different calls of NFL games on satellite radio.

Remember, in some cases, the network carrying the game may not be available to Extra Innings (e.g. Padres games on COX-4). Notice the Padres games in the package are almost always the opposing team's feed. Unless that's changed recently.

In the last few years, COX-4, Rogers Sportsnet Ontario, AND CSN Philly broadcasts have become available on the cable EI.

Must have been right after the year I subscribed to EI. Thanks!

I checked out the free preview last week. Verizon Fios only carries 1 game in HD. The PQ of the SD channels is so bad it's almost unwatchable. I would never pay for a package like EI for that reason alone.

There must be a price point somewhere between 0 and the $179,99 they are asking. I, for example, would pay about $120.

It used to always be that you could count on those to not show up. When I found them slowly appear over a one to two year period, it was a surprise to me each and every time, especially when Rogers Sportsnet made its way to MLB EI. COX-4 and CSN Philly were probably provided from the cable operators after they renewed their MLB deal in 2006 (well...it was a miracle that they did at the time).

It would be great if all the games could be in HD. And I agree some of it is almost unwatchable as a bunch of the games are shown via FOX Sports Nets. Games show on non FS networks (YES, SNY, STO, Root, CSN) looks good but is streched on a flat panel because its the SD feed and not HD feed.

What about the NESN feed in SD? DirecTv has this package with the feeds in HD (all that are broadcast) and home and away feeds.

Oh yeah how could I forget about NESN and I am a Red Sox fan.

Also about NESN, the NESN National feed is now in HD but its being broadcast over the SD feed.
