MLB on FOX...local announcers?

...as another sign of the apocolypse appears with MLB on FOX appearing at Tropicana Field for the second time this season, I notice that neither Joe Buck, nor Dick Stockton ( who would have driven to Tampa instead of St Pete) nor Thom Brennamen, nor any of the MLB on FOX announcers were in the booth.

The Rays own Dewayne Staats was the play by play man. Now this is a good thing from the standpoint that there be no discrepancies as to information and location ( see Stockton saying "We're Going to Tampa") and fans in both Tampa/St Pete and Minneapolis/St Paul will get a better broadcast than they would have normally. Staats has done this for years with ESPN and others, and he's emminently qualified for this regional audience hes calling the game to.

My question: Is it that FOX is now so cheap they are using home announcers for the games, or do the big boys such as Buck just adamantly refuse to enter the Trop?

Just asking.

With Fox Sports Net outlets doing so many MLB local telecasts, it's no surprise that some of their announcers do the Saturday game as well. Thom Brennaman has been with Fox since before he joined the Diamondbacks in 1998. Mark Grace (D'backs analyst on FSN Arizona) does one of the Saturday games every week. This week he called his own team's game, but he usually doesn't.
