I think blackout rules apply to Fox, no?
I have a feeling that, with the numbers Red Sox-Yankees always get nationally, Fox will be sending the Braves game only to those cities within the Braves' strongest area of loyalty.
although looking at the map, surprising that more cites are getting the Cubs game.
Well, the majority of the states that are getting the Cubs game are in the Midwest, where there are a lot of Cubs fans.
Iām surprised they donāt make Red Sox-Yankees a standalone game and put the other two games at 4 on FS1.

PLus the other games can be used as a backup in case of rain out
plus not everyone wants to see THAT game shoved down our throats
More, unfortunately, than any other game, when the numbers come in. And apparently enough outside the NY and Boston markets to satisfy the advertisers. The best game of the day in terms of young talent is probably Astros-Blue Jays, and neither network is ever going to show that because they know ratings will crater.

Why don't they put one game on Fox, one on FS1 and the other one on lets say FX?
I'd imagine the contract with MLB specifies one game, and one game only, in the time slot for each television market. Same reason you only see one NFL game in the 4:30 ET slot on Fox (or CBS) where you are despite there being several others available.

And I have MLB.TV. But you and I are paying MLB for the additional games we watch. There's no way MLB wants to reduce that revenue stream by allowing Fox to put additional games on its other networks while a game of the week is airing on Fox or FS1.
FX is owned by a subsidiary of Disney and not Fox.

FSN2 then. For College Football they show Games on Fox,FSN1,FSN2,Fox College Sports channels to.
Again, MLB doesn't want to give everything away on over-the-air/basic cable TV. The people who are getting Red Sox-Yankees who'd rather see Dodgers-Braves or some other game instead will have to pony up for Extra Innings or MLB.TV.

This should finally put to bed the idea of MLB even thinking of allowing Fox (or any rights holder) to offer other games on alternate channels. Money talks, utopian "give the viewers what they want" pipe dreams walk.
Really? We are getting Cubs-Dodgers in the Upstate and the western Carolinas rather than Red Sox-Yankees? Only time that's happened was for the Braves.
