MLB Over The Air Affiliates

I've always been curious who the Local OTA affiliates were for every Major League Baseball team.

Here is what I know...

New York Yankees
WPIX from 1950s-1998
WNYW 1998-2002
WCBS 2003-2004
WWOR 2005-Present

New York Mets
WWOR 1962-1998
WPIX 1998-Present

Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers
WOR 1950-1957
KTTV 1958-1992
KTLA 1993-2001
KCOP 2002-2006
KCAL 2007-Present

California Angels (I refuse to call them the LA Angels of Anaheim)
KHJ (KCAL) 1961-1963
KTLA 1964-1995
KCAL 1996-2005(?)
KCOP 2006-Present

Boston Red Sox
WSBK 1975-1995
WABU 1996-1998
WFXT 1999-2002
WSBK/WBZ 2003-2005

Florida Marlins
WBFS 1993-1998
WAMI 1999-2001
WPXP 2002-2005

Tampa Bay Rays
WMOR 1998-2001
WTSP (Sundays) 1998-2001
WXPX 2002-Present

Atlanta Braves
WPCH 1971-Present

Anyone care to contribute?

Since there was no modify button.

Philadelphia Phillies
WPHL 1971-1981
WTXF 1982-1992
WPHL 1993-1998
WPSG 1999-Present

Chicago Cubs
WGN-TV Ch. 9 - 1948 to present
WCIU-TV Ch. 26 - 2000 to present

Chicago White Sox
WGN-TV Ch. 9 - 1948-1967, 1981, 1990-present
WFLD-TV Ch. 32 - 1968-1972, 1982-1989
WSNS Ch. 44 - 1973-1980, 1984 (ON-TV/SportsVision*)
WPWR/WBBS Ch. 60 - 1982-1983 (SportsVision*)
WCIU-TV Ch. 26 - 2000-present

* ON-TV & SportsVision were over-the-air pay-TV services in Chicago in the early '80s. These broadcasts were scrambled but easily decoded. WPWR & WBBS shared time on Channel 60.

Some Cubs & Sox home games might have aired on W9XBK/WBKB between its 1940 sign-on & 1947, but I don't have any sources or documentation with absolute proof of that.

Arizona Diamondbacks
KTVK Ch. 3 - 1998-2007
KASW Ch. 61 - 2003 (East coast road games only)

Beginning this season, the only way to see Diamondback games over the air is if they are on the Fox game of the week, shown on KSAZ-TV Ch. 10. All local telecasts are on FSN Arizona.

Pittsburgh Pirates

WENS-16 1953 (station was partly owned by Pirates announcer
Bob Prince. Like many UHF's back then they did not make it. If they
had they would have become a regional sports power, decades
before cable made that concept popular. Games were carried
almost daily.)

KDKA-2 mid 1950's - 1995
WPXI-11 1996
WPTT/WTWB/WPMY 22 and UPN/CW 19 - sporadically since 1997
(generally only as an overflow option when Fox Sports Pittsburgh
had a conflict with the Penguins or College Football)

Have not seen them anyplace over the air for at least 3 yrs.

...NOT TRUE. 50 of this season's games will be broadcast by KPHE-LP/44; the schedule is on display at http://mlb.mlb.com/es/ari/tv_info.jsp...

I thought those broadcasts ended as well - I stand corrected. Of course, they're in Spanish.

That's good news, since I don't have cable. No, I can't understand Spanish either, but watching a TV game with the sound off and the radio on isn't a new thing.

They were on WLVI/56 for one year in the late 90s in-between WABU and WFXT. I think it was called something to the effect of The New England Television Network or somethign weird like that. (Not sure of the exact name. Not my team).

And even tho I'm not a fan of the team, I think it sucks you can't watch the games on Free Over The Air TV, except for the handful of games on the FOX Network.

2006-Present WKYC-3
Does WKYC's parent company own Sports Time Ohio?

No..The Cleveland Indians own STO..They contracted with WKYC and Time Warner Cable to build the infrastructure for SportsTime Ohio..STO's studios are located at the WKYC building..

Houston Astros/Colt 45s - According to the book "A Six-Gun Salute", KTRK (ABC) was the Colt 45s first TV affiliate. Not sure how long this agreement lasted.

The Orioles..before 1979 I believe WJZ had them for a number of years. In the 60's it was WMAR.

I dont think WBAL ever had the Orioles.

We here in the Quad Cities have enjoyed our share of baseball, and here's some of our history:

Chicago Cubs
WQAD TV 8 (Late 1980s that I know of)
KLJB Fox 18 (Early 1990s)

St. Louis Cardinals
KGCW CW 26 (QC home since 2001; some games aired on Fox 18)
