The Golden Girls beat game 1 of the 85 world series, but baseball is a local/regional sport, people will only tune in if their team is in, that doesn't need to happen for the NFL
Exactly, mainly because there are fewer NFL games, plus now you have fantasy football. The fantasy leagues create interest even if the team is out of town.

TBS, which is broadcasting the ALCS, is often one of the lowest placed cable channels. Here, TBS is cable 15. The only major cable channels lower than them here are WGN America (cable 12) and E! (cable 14)

Exactly yet they're complaining about the playoffs being on TBS.
Could be about the NLDS and NLCS on FOX Sports 1. Which is hard as you can't just view it without a digital box.
