Nothing to brag about, just bought a new Grundig HD which is the most powerful HD unit so I was told. MMR's HD is some sort of live Classic Rock and they call it the Archives. I heard U2 as usual, Billy Idol, Stones, Floyd all live cuts, the usual bands they feature on their daily programming, I thought I would be treated to hair bands, hard rock and Metal, but no way Jose'. I listened for a few hours, is this their usual diet or am I missing times when they do play heavy cuts.
 
I got my HD Radio in June, and there's not usually anything playing on WMMR HD-2 or WMGK HD-2 that can hold my attention for any long period of time. It sounds like they've got every live cut from the artists in their HD-1 rotation on random. No organization, and little variety.

If there was a format that demanded a DJ like Pierre Robert, this would be it. You can't play a live cut and then not explain:
1. Who's playing
2. When / where it was recorded
3. Why it's a cool cut.

You can get away with less of this if you play entire shows, but it doesn't seem like they do that. Really, it's just a mish-mash of live music with no explanation or guidance for listeners - but the potential is obviously there to do something awesome with it.
