Mobile and 'Birmingham' stations listed for sale...

http://www.broadcaststations4sale.com/sale.html

MOBILE, ALABAMA... 10,000 watts day 500 watts night. New CP that is near a grant from the FCC. New owner must build station from the CP. 1550 on the dail, has land for tower site. Applicant want to sell CP with option to buy. Price is $100,000. Will be a great facility when on the air. Will cover all of Mobile and Gulf coast area.
Call Ted Gray at (336) 570-9133 for more details.

I know this is the 1550 app for Satsuma...has a CP really been issued for it? It seems to be the most 'buildable' of the new AM applications, as it only calls for two/three towers.

BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA MARKET... 5KW daytime. Lease both studios and tower site. Equipment has been updated, a very nice facility. Station covers the market very well. Asking $400,000 cash.
Call Ted Gray at (336) 570-9133for more details.

I would guess WLPH 1480 (Cox's WZZK 1320 would sell for more if sold at all), but the fact that they called it a 'Birmingham market' station tells me it's more like WCOC 1010.

WCOC is a 5000 kw daytimer that broadcasts at 41 kw nights. WLPH is a 5000 daytimer. Right now, isn't it co-owned with Bishop Willis' WAYE-1220 in Birmingham. And hasn't he run into some problems with either the FCC or the IRS?

1550 in Satsuma

You are correct that the 1550 is in fact Satsuma, AL.

if you have any questions or are interested in possibly purchasing the CP, contact me via the email in my profile and i will put you in touch with the licensee, Radio 786.

How far along is the CP to being approved? No call letters seem to have been issued for it (though I'm not well-schooled in how the approval/application process works).
______________

Here's my thought:

Brokers who post such obvious information on their websites aren't very good at their jobs. Confidentiality is a major issue in selling a radio station, and to breach it is simply irresponsible. If you are going to give away blatantly identifying information, why not just post the calls?

If you'll notice, the owner of that particular website hasn't done a real deal in years. Such bottom-feeders give the rest of us bad names.

Sorry for the rant. It wasn't directed at you, TheX...I just couldn't resist!

Well, there's still a little ambiguity about what 'B'ham market' station is for sale, so...
______________
