Out today... Is this the day that the numbers tell Cumulus to (unfortunately, IMO) pull the plug on HOT 104? Or, will we all be surprised and see that WYOK has made up substantial ground?

Me personally, I'm rooting for the substantial ground, for the airstaff's sake...

Votes, anyone?
______________

Hold the phone!

WABB -- down in BOTH Mobile and Pensacola.
WYOK -- UP in BOTH Mobile and Pensacola.

Those are 12+, does anybody have access to the demos?

Without quoting specific numbers (because our friendly mods wouldn't like that so much), WYOK tripled its number in Pensacola and added a half share in Mobile. A much needed (as in, saving the format) rebound?

Or, too little, too late?

I'd like for Cumulus to leave Hot 104 alone for a little bit longer to see if it is indeed recovering from Hurricane Ivan and thus getting back to where they almost was before last September. Running on reduced power really took the sails out of their battle against WABB. The next set of trends will probably give us a better read into it.
______________

I agree. That big stick toppling over in Baldwin Co. nearly killed both Hot and (to a lesser extent) BLX. Hot is too good sounding to shoot it now. Give it one more book to see if they can sustain growth that may approach pre-Ivan numbers. Even a gradual erosion into ABB would be enough evidence to save Hot, as long as they still produce revenue.

A Message To Gary Pizatti

INVEST in your products, stop cutting budgets to make President's Circle. Get a good PD into HOT 104, get some FRESH, NEW, LICENSED imaging on the air. Currently, HOT has NO IMAGING PACKAGES, and the sweepers running are the same ones that have been running since Spring 2004...yes 2004!!!
