Moby Dealing With Serious Health Issue

The Texas Radio Hall of Fame Facebook page is reporting that former Kicks 101-5 morning man Moby (James Carney) spent the past month in the hospital. What initially was believed to be a painful hip infection has been diagnosed as liver cancer. According to the post, he was to be moved to a rehab facility today in order to gain some strength after being bedridden for so long.

If any of you are the praying type, I am sure that Moby and his family would appreciate your prayers.

Moby was of course a legendary personality in the Houston market prior to coming to Atlanta.

🥺

Very sad news. I will be praying for him. The worst part of my job (RN) is admitting someone for something like pain or a routine surgery and finding something much worse along the way.

He was a neighbor of mine as a high schooler in Houston, I spoke with him a couple of years ago and asked if he remembered, he laughed and said something like, that was 30 years ago, I have forgot a lot since then...

I listened to Moby on the Houston stations when he started. Finally met him in person when he came to ABC Radio networks in Dallas to do his show from the old Z Rock studio, which I set up for him.. he had lost a lot of weight then from his time in Houston but was still the same old Moby .. I hope he wins the battle..
