Moby dominates Athens market

This just in: Moby is the most listened to show in the Athens radio market. No longer do KICKS or Eagle get higher ratings from 6-10 in Athens than WNGC. Moby is certainly making an impact.

IN YOUR FACE KICKS!
IN YOUR FACE Z-93!

Athens is not an arbitron rated market plus isn't there only about 5 local stations.

Ok then.....

Just what source does this information come from?

I think their numbers are high because of their traffic guy in the mornings...
______________

And if that's true, is it so surprising that a local station would have more listeners than an Atlanta station that doesn't have a city-grade signal in Athens? And do you think Kicks cares about a town outside of the Atlanta metro? Advertising is purchased based on Kicks' numbers in the metro.

Moby is good at what he does! I miss listening to him. Luckily, we all still have Rhubarb Jones on Eagle. He's just like that bunny. He keeps going, and going, and going, and going...

Re: Ok then.....

80s remains true to form...stuck in the 80s. Athens is not Atlanta. NGC is dwarfed by WYAY in the morning let alone WKHX in every neighboring county adjacent to what Athens is barely near! I cant imagine that a college town like Athens would buy into his act, but giving your unsourced data the benefit of the doubt, to shove it down Kicks and Z-93s face he would have needed to be successful here, where the money is, in the community served. Fact is, he didnt in the long haul, and if he can be successful in a smaller market, bless him, but it means nothing to boast to Atlanta radio over.

Do you get paid to be his fan club?

The preceding post was brought to you by the Biggest Steaming Pile in America.

Seriously, dude, give it up. Moby's obviously paying you to hype him around here...that or you ARE him, or his "sidekick." News flash: Kicks doesn't care. Z-93, since they don't exist anymore, doesn't care, nor should they.

WNGC could be a powerhouse, but they never will be so long as they're largely a mix of syndicated shows with maybe a real DJ thrown in here and there.

I just have to add this.. Way back when , Moby was new to atlanta, I Owned at that time a DJ biz. As in playing parties and such. So, My partner was from the Dallas Texas area where moby used to be: So it just so happened that moby was the atlanta radio guest of honor at this party, A bunch of nurses from the then ga baptist hospital. So- My partner wanted to say hi to someone he used to listen to, We said the usual hi's, and got the worst brush off from someone who was coming off so cool and clean to those there. I was not at all impressed by this man and to this day, I could care less what he does. I think hes a rude, (very stuck on himself)has been. Sorry just had to let this go. Now as far as athens,
a medium market at best. Glad for those who like him, but rhubarb, is a great guy and I wish him continued success. He reminds me a lot of Len Anthony, Hes been in the market forever and again I hope moby can at least get a better
personality or something.
______________
